Founding Product Engineer — AI & Analytics

About the RoleWe are looking for a highly hands-on Full-Stack AI/Product Engineer with 4+ years of professional experience who can take ownership of product engineering from architecture through deployment.This is a high-ownership role.You will work closely with the founder and be responsible for transforming AI and analytics prototypes into robust, scalable and production-ready products.You should be comfortable working across software engineering, data, AI/ML, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure and deployment.What You Will OwnProduct Engineering· Design and implement production-ready application architecture.· Review, refactor and improve existing MVP and prototype codebases.· Build backend services, APIs and application functionality.· Design and maintain relational databases.· Build data ingestion and processing pipelines.· Develop integrations with external data sources, APIs and business systems.· Implement authentication, authorization and user management.· Build systems capable of supporting multiple customers and deployments.· Maintain clean, modular and maintainable code.AI & Data· Integrate machine-learning and predictive analytics models into production applications.· Develop data preprocessing and validation workflows.· Work with structured business data and large datasets.· Implement model inference and prediction pipelines.· Monitor data quality and model performance.· Convert analytical outputs into useful product functionality.· Collaborate with the research/product team to implement new AI capabilities.Product & Customer Implementation· Work closely with the founder and product team to translate business requirements into technical solutions.· Participate in customer implementations when required.· Understand customer data structures and integration requirements.· Diagnose technical and data-related problems.· Convert customer feedback into product improvements.· Take ownership of technical delivery from development through deployment.Required SkillsMust Have· 4+ years of professional software engineering experience· Strong Python development skills· Strong SQL skills· Experience with PostgreSQL or equivalent relational databases· Experience building REST APIs· Experience with FastAPI, Flask, Django or equivalent· Strong experience with Pandas / NumPy· Experience with machine learning, predictive analytics or AI applications· Experience with Git/GitHub· Experience with Docker· Experience deploying applications to a cloud environment· Strong debugging and problem-solving skills· Understanding of software architecture and production engineering practicesPreferred· Experience with Microsoft Azure· Azure ML or equivalent ML deployment experience· Experience with Streamlit· Data engineering / ETL· API and third-party system integrations· CI/CD and GitHub Actions· Application monitoring and logging· Multi-tenant SaaS architecture· Experience taking products from prototype/MVP → production· Experience working in retail, e-commerce or other data-intensive business domainsWhat We Are Looking ForWe are looking for someone who:· Takes ownership rather than waiting for detailed instructions.· Can independently investigate and solve technical problems.· Is comfortable working with incomplete or evolving requirements.· Can make practical architecture and technology decisions.· Can balance speed of delivery with engineering quality.· Enjoys working across multiple technical areas rather than being restricted to one narrow function.· Has strong product thinking in addition to coding ability.· Is comfortable working directly with founders and customers.· Is excited by the opportunity to build new products from the ground up.Why Join Nutcracklab?This is an early-stage opportunity with significant technical ownership.You will have the opportunity to:· Build AI products from the ground up.· Work directly with the founder.· Influence architecture and technology decisions.· Work across AI, data and product engineering.· Take products from idea → prototype → MVP → production.· Help establish the company’s engineering culture and technical foundation.· Eventually help build and lead the engineering team as the product portfolio grows.
