Groser is its local commerce and services platform, connecting customers with nearby grocery retailers, shops, service providers, and delivery resources. We are exploring the next frontier of local commerce: an autonomous drone delivery system integrated directly with Groser, designed to transport groceries and eligible goods from suppliers to customers with minimal human intervention. We are looking for an exceptional engineering professional to help turn this ambitious concept into a working, testable, and commercially viable product. The MissionImagine a customer placing a grocery or eligible service-related order through Groser. An autonomous drone receives the confirmed delivery task, identifies the supplier and customer locations, travels to the supplier, verifies the order, securely collects the goods, and transports them to the customer. At the destination, the drone verifies the customer's identity, positions the payload for collection, confirms delivery, and returns to its designated docking station.Your mission will be to help architect, prototype, integrate, and validate the technology required to make this vision possible. What You Will Build1. Autonomous Drone PlatformDesign or integrate an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) capable of autonomous delivery missions.Evaluate flight controllers, navigation systems, propulsion, batteries, payload capacity, and flight endurance.Implement waypoint navigation, obstacle detection and avoidance, geofencing, return-to-home behavior, and emergency procedures.2. Secure Smart Cargo SystemDevelop a secure, electronically controlled cargo compartment for transporting customer orders.Implement QR-based verification and authorization workflows for supplier handover and customer collection.Design a controlled cargo-release mechanism that prevents unauthorized access.Explore a precise payload-placement or transfer mechanism that can safely place the delivery at the designated customer collection point.Integrate cargo sensors, door locks, load detection, and delivery confirmation.3. Intelligent Docking InfrastructureDevelop the concept for a smart docking station serving as a drone's operational base.Explore automated landing, charging or battery exchange, system diagnostics, mission preparation, and secure storage.Design docking workflows that support future multi-drone and multi-location operations.4. Groser Platform IntegrationIntegrate the drone control system with Groser's order lifecycle through secure APIs and event-driven communication.Process confirmed orders and retrieve authorized supplier and delivery information.Develop mission assignment, routing, status updates, delivery verification, exception handling, and return-to-base workflows.Build reliable communication between the drone, docking station, backend services, and Groser application.5. Blockchain-Based Payments and TippingExplore blockchain wallet integration for customer payments, supplier settlement, and optional post-delivery tipping.Evaluate secure transaction authorization, wallet management, transaction records, and payment reconciliation.Design payment workflows that remain reliable under network interruptions and operational failures.6. Testing, Safety and Commercial ReadinessDevelop simulations and controlled prototypes before live delivery trials.Establish measurable performance targets for payload capacity, range, endurance, delivery accuracy, turnaround time, and system reliability.Implement telemetry, fault detection, audit logs, and safe recovery procedures.Investigate applicable aviation, privacy, cybersecurity, and operational requirements before conducting outdoor flight tests or commercial deliveries.Must-Have SkillsCandidates should demonstrate strong practical capability in several of the following core areas, with the first three particularly important:1.
