This could be a great place to start.We're working with a large, international business looking for a newly qualified accountant to join its commercial finance team in a newly created FP&A Assistant Manager role.It's an excellent opportunity to move away from audit and into a more commercially focused position, gaining exposure to budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and business partnering across a range of corporate functions.You'll be working closely with an experienced Commercial Finance Manager, supporting the financial management of a Shared Service Centre covering IT, Property, HR, Legal, Compliance, Finance and Executive functions.What you'll be doingSupporting budgeting and quarterly forecasting across multiple business functionsProducing monthly management reports, analysing spend and explaining variancesWorking with senior stakeholders to understand costs and support better financial decision-makingTaking ownership of CAPEX reporting, analysis and budgetingAnalysing expenditure across areas including recruitment, legal fees and trainingWorking with the accounting team to ensure accurate cost allocationsHelping improve reporting processes, controls and financial informationWhat we're looking forNewly qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountantA background in a Big 4 or other accountancy practice would be very welcomeStrong technical accounting skills and an analytical mindsetSomeone organised, proactive and comfortable working with detailConfident communication skills and an interest in building relationships with non-finance colleaguesA genuine desire to develop a career in commercial finance and FP&AExperience of US GAAP or SOX controls would be useful, but isn't essential.Why consider it?This is a newly created role offering a great introduction to commercial finance within a sizeable international organisation.You'll get exposure to a wide range of business functions, work with senior stakeholders and develop the FP&A and business partnering skills that can open doors to more senior commercial finance roles in the future.If you're newly qualified and looking for your first move out of practice, we'd love to hear from you, as well as those experienced in FP&A in large complex businesses.
