Dwex fosters a supportive culture that encourages professional development and collaboration, enabling team members to contribute to the company’s ongoing growth and success.Role Description The Freelance Dewatering Software Modelling Engineer will work on-site in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, under a contract arrangement. This role involves developing and refining dewatering models using specialized software tools, performing hydraulic and geotechnical analyses, and generating design scenarios for complex dewatering projects. The engineer will collaborate with project managers and field engineers to validate modelling assumptions, interpret site investigation data, and provide clear, actionable recommendations for system design and performance optimization. Day-to-day tasks include preparing technical reports, updating models based on field feedback, supporting tender and project proposals with modelling inputs, and ensuring designs adhere to relevant industry standards and HSE requirements. The role may also involve occasional site visits to review conditions, verify model outputs, and support troubleshooting of dewatering systems.Qualifications Strong skills in dewatering, groundwater flow modelling, and hydraulic or geotechnical analysis using specialized engineering software.Proficiency in engineering design tools (e.g., CAD or similar), data analysis, and preparation of technical drawings and schematics.Ability to interpret geotechnical reports, site investigation data, and monitoring records to inform and calibrate dewatering models.Experience preparing clear technical documentation, including calculation packages, design reports, and method statements.Solid understanding of construction dewatering methods, pumps and related equipment, and practical site constraints.Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and HSE principles applicable to dewatering and construction activities.Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Hydrogeology, or a closely related discipline.Previous experience in dewatering or deep excavation support projects in the GCC region is highly beneficial.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary project teams.Professional proficiency in English; ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
