Freelance Project Design Manager – UAEWe're hiring an experienced Freelance Project Design Manager to join the Arena Modular team in UAE. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the complete design process across modular construction projects, from client brief and concept development through technical design, authority approvals, procurement support, and site delivery. You will ensure design integrity, quality, programme compliance, and successful project execution across Architecture, Interior Design, Structure, MEP, FF&E, and Fire Life Safety packages. What you'll doLead and manage the design process from concept through to construction and project handover. Act as the primary design contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams including Architects, Interior Designers, BIM/CAD Technicians, Visualisers, and Technical Designers. Manage project programmes, design deliverables, submissions, and authority approvals.Prepare and review design packages, material submittals, specifications, and schedules. Lead design workshops and resolve design clashes to support efficient project delivery. Coordinate with Estimating, Commercial, Procurement, Operations, and Project Management teams to ensure designs align with budgets and project objectives. Review contractor submissions and ensure alignment with approved design intent. Conduct site visits and support delivery teams throughout the construction phase. Drive value engineering initiatives and design solutions that balance creativity, functionality, and commercial requirements. What we're looking forDegree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or a related design discipline. 10-15 years of experience within Architecture and/or Interior Architecture for commercial and hospitality projects. Minimum 10 years of experience in a Design Management or Lead Design role. Strong Design & Build project experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Excel. Strong knowledge of UAE authority approval processes, building codes, and construction regulations. Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and client-facing projects. Strong conceptual design, project coordination, communication, and leadership skills. Experience within modular construction, temporary structures, hospitality, commercial, or design & build environments is highly desirable.
