Freight Forwarding Manager – Ocean Freight & NVOCC | UAE

Location: Sharjah, UAE Employment Type: Full-Time Experience: Minimum 10 YearsAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Freight Forwarding Manager to lead our ocean freight and NVOCC operations, managing approximately 2,500–2,700 containers per month from the UAE and Oman to Pakistan.The ideal candidate must have strong shipping-line relationships, proven freight procurement and negotiation skills, and hands-on experience managing high-volume container shipments, particularly heavy 20-foot containers carrying steel and scrap cargo.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain strong relationships with shipping lines, NVOCCs, shipping agents and terminal operators.Negotiate competitive ocean freight rates, service contracts, local charges, free time, detention, demurrage and payment terms.Secure consistent vessel space, container equipment, allocations and slot arrangements for high-volume shipments.Manage NVOCC operations, carrier bookings, House/Master Bills of Lading (HBL/MBL) and shipping documentation.Oversee heavy 20-foot container shipments, particularly steel and scrap cargo.Coordinate trucking, empty container collection, loading, customs clearance, terminal gate-in and vessel cut-offs.Manage operations across Jebel Ali, Khorfakkan, Sohar, Karachi and Port Qasim.Manage shipment tracking, rollovers, delays, cargo claims and operational issues while controlling freight costs, detention and demurrage.Verify vendor invoices, control costs, prepare operational reports and lead the operations team.Required QualificationsMinimum 10 years of relevant ocean freight forwarding, NVOCC or container logistics experience, preferably in the UAE/GCC.Established carrier relationships and a proven track record in freight procurement, rate negotiations and securing space and equipment.Hands-on experience with heavy 20-foot containers, steel and scrap cargo.Strong knowledge of UAE/Oman–Pakistan shipping operations, documentation, cost control and team management.
