St Thomas Rheumatology is looking for a Receptionist to join our team in our Nashville/ Gallatin office. The Receptionist will greet and assist visitors and clients of the organization.The ideal candidate will deliver a professional and qualified first impression to all visitors. This person has excellent communication and customer service skills. He/she has a basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures/systems and the ability to multitask in a busy environment. St. Thomas Rheumatology Consultants is looking for a dependable, professional, and patient-focused Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our rheumatology practice.Position Responsibilities:Greet and check in patients in a professional and friendly mannerCheck patients out and schedule follow-up appointmentsAnswer and direct incoming phone callsSchedule new and established patient appointmentsVerify patient demographics and insurance informationCollect copays and outstanding patient balancesAssist patients with questions and direct clinical questions to the appropriate staffScan, upload, and organize medical records and documentsHandle incoming faxes and paperworkMaintain accurate patient information in the EMR systemConfirm appointments and assist with reschedulingCommunicate professionally with patients, providers, pharmacies, and other medical officesMaintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirementsWork closely with medical assistants, nurses, providers, billing, and managementMaintain a clean, organized, and professional front deskFollow all office policies and proceduresPerform additional front-office duties as assignedWhat We Are Looking For:Previous medical front desk or healthcare experience preferredExcellent customer service and communication skillsProfessional telephone etiquetteStrong computer and organizational skillsAbility to multitask in a busy medical officeAttention to detail and accuracyDependable and punctualProfessional appearance and attitudeAbility to work well as part of a teamAbility to handle difficult or upset patients professionallyWillingness to learn our EMR and office proceduresWe Expect Our Team Members To:Provide respectful and compassionate patient serviceArrive on time and be dependableMaintain patient confidentialityCommunicate professionally with patients and coworkersFollow office policies and management directionTake responsibility for assigned dutiesWork as a team to provide an efficient patient experience

Requirements

Associates degree is preferredA high school diploma is requiredProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteReliable, professional, courteous and patientExcellent communication skillsPreferred Nextgen EMR system.
