Front-End Developer (React / Next.js)Location - AmsterdamHybrid 2 days in the office per week 3 days at homeEmployment TypeFull-timeAbout the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Front-End Developer with a passion for building modern, scalable, and high-performing web applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, UX/UI, Back-End Engineering, and DevOps to deliver responsive, user-centric digital experiences.The ideal candidate has strong expertise in React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern front-end architecture, with experience working in cloud-based environments and CI/CD pipelines.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain responsive web applications using React and Next.js.Build reusable, scalable, and maintainable UI components.Develop clean, efficient, and well-tested code using JavaScript and TypeScript.Create responsive user interfaces using SASS/CSS and modern styling methodologies.Work within an NX Monorepo architecture, promoting code reuse and consistency across projects.Write and maintain unit and integration tests using Jest to ensure high-quality, reliable applications.Collaborate with UX designers, Product Owners, and backend developers to deliver exceptional user experiences.Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.Deploy and maintain applications in Microsoft Azure Cloud environments.Support and improve DevOps CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.Troubleshoot application issues, optimize performance, and implement best practices for security and scalability.Required Skills & ExperienceStrong commercial experience with React.js and Next.js.Solid knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and SASS/SCSS.Experience working with NX Monorepo architecture.Hands-on experience writing automated tests using Jest.Experience deploying and supporting applications in Microsoft Azure Cloud.Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.Familiarity with Git and modern version control workflows.Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility, and web performance optimization.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in Agile development environments.Nice to HaveExperience with Sitecore CMS.Experience with Kontent.ai headless CMS.Experience with component libraries and design systems.Knowledge of RESTful APIs and modern front-end integration patterns.Experience with Azure DevOps and Agile/Scrum methodologies.This opportunity is with a leading organisation offering a collaborative and delivery-focused environment, providing the opportunity to work across multiple projects and contribute to successful technology initiatives.kai.withers@empiric.comMOBI: +44 7585275914T: +44 203 6757777W: www.empiric.comEmpiric is one of the fastest-growing technology and transformation recruitment agency's specialising in data, digital, cloud and security.
