We are looking for a resourceful, organized, and curious Fulfillment and Direct-to-Consumer Manager to join our leadership team. This is an important role with a high level of responsibility and visibility. You will own how our products get from our kitchen to our customers, whether that is a wholesale account across town, an online order across the country, or a Saturday farmers market. You will also contribute to how our online business grows.This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys owning a process from start to finish, is always looking for a better way to do it and wants to see results week to week. You will work closely with the owner, the COO, and our production manager on how we plan for growth, and you will manage our farmers market team. You should be comfortable wearing many hats, working independently, and collaborating closely with a small team.What You'll DoOrders and FulfillmentCompile total demand for the week across wholesale, online, and market channels, and plan the week's production with our production managerOwn fulfillment for our larger retail partners, including EDI order processing, shipment notices, and retailer compliancePack, ship, and track online orders, and keep the records we need for product traceabilityBuild and manage part-time fulfillment support as we growOnline BusinessOwn the performance of our Shopify store and our Faire wholesale marketplace: listings, merchandising, promotions, and the tools each platform offersReview analytics regularly, including sales, conversion, fulfillment times, and customer reviews, and use what you learn to shape our online strategyBring new ideas and new tools to grow online sales and improve the customer experienceReport on how our online channels are performing and recommend where to investExecute social media posts and event announcements so customers know what is new and where to find usMarkets and EventsManage our farmers market team: scheduling, training, and day to day supportManage the market and event calendar, including applications, staffing, gear, and productEvaluate actual costs and returns of events and contribute to the annual event planningInventory and PlanningKeep our inventory management system accurate: orders, stock adjustments, and transfers between locationsManage packaging and supply reorders so we stay ahead of supplier lead timesLook for the repetitive parts of the job and find ways to automate or simplify themOffice SupportBe the first point of contact for walk-ins, including customers, vendors, and service visitsSupport the owner and the team with day-to-day needs, from ordering supplies to small projectsSkills and ExperienceExperience running fulfillment or order operations, ideally for a consumer productExperience growing an online store or marketplace channel such as Shopify or Faire, not just operating oneHands on experience with an inventory management or ERP systemExperience managing or leading part time or seasonal staffStrong spreadsheet skills and comfort working with dataAvailability to be in the office regularly and when shipping and event needs come upExperience in consumer-packaged goods (CPG) or manufacturingFamiliarity with lot tracking, traceability, or food safety certification programsExperience with EDI or retailer vendor complianceEmail marketing platform experience Experience with process automation or AI toolsBilingual English and SpanishHow You WorkProactive and strategic, with a track record of finding a better way rather than repeating the current oneHighly organized and detail orientedStrong communicator, in writing and in personFlexible, and willing to adapt as the business and the role changeComfortable asking questions, learning new systems, and figuring things outDependable, and follows through on commitmentsGenuinely excited about small business, good food, and being part of a local communityMost importantly, we are looking for someone who wants to be part of building something. We want someone who will become deeply familiar with our business, contribute ideas, identify opportunities, and take on greater responsibility as the company expands.Compensation and BenefitsSalary: $62,400 to $66,000 per year, depending on experience.Health insurancePaid time off, holiday and vacationThis position is based at our SE Portland facility, Monday through Friday, and includes working events periodically through the year. It involves regular lifting of up to 50 pounds.
