Role: AI Developer (Full-Stack & AI Development)Location: Kolkata, India (On-site)Experience: 3–6 MonthsAbout the RoleOpvia is looking for a curious, motivated, and technically strong AI Developer to join our growing team in Kolkata.We are looking for a fresher or early-career developer who has a solid understanding of software development across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and emerging AI technologies.The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys experimenting with different technologies, can quickly learn new tools and frameworks, and is excited about building real-world applications powered by AI.This is a hands-on role where you will work across different parts of the technology stack, contribute to product development, and explore how AI can be integrated into practical business solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesFull-Stack Development: Build, develop, and maintain web applications, working across both frontend and backend technologies.AI Integration: Explore and integrate AI capabilities, including LLMs, AI APIs, and automation tools, into applications and workflows.API Development & Integration: Build and work with REST APIs, third-party services, and different software platforms.Product Development: Collaborate with the team to turn ideas and business requirements into functional software solutions.Experimentation & Prototyping: Develop proof-of-concepts and experiment with new AI tools, frameworks, and technologies.Debugging & Optimization: Troubleshoot technical issues, improve application performance, and maintain clean, reliable code.Continuous Learning: Stay updated with developments in AI, software engineering, and modern development frameworks.Required Skills & Experience3-6 months of experience in software development, including internships, freelance work, or personal projects.Good understanding of frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, or Next.js.Familiarity with backend development using Python, Node.js, or similar technologies.Basic understanding of databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.Familiarity with REST APIs, Git, and modern development workflows.Some hands-on exposure to AI/LLMs, such as OpenAI APIs, Gemini, LangChain, AI agents, or similar tools, through projects or experimentation.Ability to understand and work across different software, frameworks, APIs, and technology stacks.Strong problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and willingness to learn independently.Ability to take ownership of tasks and work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Good to HaveExperience building AI-powered applications, chatbots, agents, or automation workflows.Familiarity with prompt engineering, RAG, vector databases, or LLM integrations.Basic knowledge of cloud platforms, deployment, and DevOps.Personal projects or a GitHub portfolio demonstrating practical development skills.We value practical skills, curiosity, and the ability to build things more than years of experience.
