FULL STACK & AI INTERN @ DALATEAAbout DalateaDalatea is building the AI copilot for bank risk teams. Think Harvey or Legora, but for the risk function of a bank.We are automating complex banking processes end-to-end with AI agents across areas such as capital optimization, stress testing and regulatory reporting. We are a small team led by people with experience at Oliver Wyman, Santander and the Bank of Spain, and backed by top-tier investors. We are still early enough that the people joining now have a real opportunity to shape the product, the technology and the way we build the company.ConditionsPaid internship: €1,000 / monthInternship agreement with your university.On-site. Hybrid working model.Start date: December / JanuaryPotential opportunity to join full-time after the internship if it is a strong fit on both sides.Role OverviewWe are looking for a Full Stack & AI Intern who wants to build real product, not work on an artificial internship project. Your code will go into production. You will work directly with our CTO and Founding Engineering, contribute to the real product roadmap and build software used by risk teams at banks. You do not need to know anything about banking regulation before joining. You will learn that here. What matters much more is that you are curious, technically strong, willing to learn fast and excited by the idea of building things that real users depend on. You will work across the stack. One day you might build a frontend feature or an API. The next you might work on an AI workflow, a data pipeline, a scraper, a chatbot or a cloud deployment. This is not an internship where you spend six months watching other people build. We want you in the arena. What You’ll DoBuild and ship features across our web application, working on both frontend and backend.Develop AI-powered functionality using LLMs, including chatbots, assisted analysis and automated generation of explanations and justifications.Build APIs, internal services and product workflows.Create data pipelines and scrapers to collect, transform and process information.Work with cloud infrastructure and deployments, with support from the engineering team.Write tests, open pull requests, review code and participate in the normal development workflow of a product engineering team.Work directly on tasks from the actual product roadmap.Use AI coding tools aggressively to improve the speed and quality of your work.Help us explore new ways of applying AI to problems in banking and financial regulation.Take ownership of increasingly complex problems as you demonstrate that you can handle them.Must HaveCurrently in the final year of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Mathematics or a similar technical field.Ability to sign an internship agreement with your university.A solid foundation in programming.Experience with Python.Experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript.Basic knowledge of Git and SQL.Ability to read and work with technical documentation in English.Curiosity and a strong willingness to understand how things work.Autonomy. When you get stuck, you try to solve the problem before waiting for someone to tell you what to do.High agency and a bias towards building.High standards for the quality of your own work.Nice to HaveExperience using AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code or similar.Personal projects where you have built something from scratch.Experience with both web development and Python.Interest in AI, LLMs, agents and chatbots.Exposure to cloud infrastructure.Experience building APIs or data pipelines.A GitHub profile, portfolio or project you can show us.We care much more about what you can build, how quickly you learn and how you approach problems than about having the perfect CV.This Role Is Probably Not for You If You ExpectAn internship where you are given an isolated project that never reaches production.Someone to tell you exactly what to do step by step.To spend most of your time observing rather than building.Perfectly defined tasks with no ambiguity. To work exclusively on frontend, backend or AI without touching anything outside your preferred area.A large engineering organization with several layers of management and established processes for everything. To avoid responsibility because you are “just an intern”.To wait until you feel completely ready before shipping something.A slow learning environment with a predictable scope. To optimize for comfort over learning, responsibility and impact.Who Will Love This RoleThis is an especially strong opportunity for someone who thinks: “I want to become a very good engineer, and the fastest way to do that is to build real things with strong people and see my work being used.”You will get exposure to much more than a narrow technical problem. You will see how product decisions are made, how customers use what you build, how an early-stage engineering team operates and how AI products move from an idea to production. If you are the kind of person who builds side projects because you are curious, experiments with new tools when they appear and gets excited by having a blank page rather than intimidated by it, you will probably enjoy Dalatea. Why Join Us?Real product from the beginningYour work will not disappear into an internship folder. You will contribute code to production and work on software used by real banking teams.Learn directly from the engineering teamYou will work closely with the CTO and Head of Engineering, with structured onboarding, mentorship and frequent feedback.Ownership & AutonomyAs you demonstrate that you can handle more, we will give you more.We want people to own problems, not simply complete tickets.AI at the coreYou will work in an environment where AI is both part of the product and part of how we work every day.You will have the opportunity to experiment with LLMs, agents, AI coding tools and new development workflows as the technology evolves.Get in earlyDalatea is still a small company. That means direct access to the founders, very little bureaucracy and the opportunity to see first-hand how a technology company is built.Career opportunityIf the internship works well for both sides, there may be an opportunity to join Dalatea full-time afterwards. Our goal is not simply to find someone who can help us for a few months. We want to identify exceptional people who can grow with the company. Our Principles1. OwnershipWe all treat Dalatea like it is ours. That means stepping up, following through and caring about outcomes, not just tasks. When something needs fixing, we do not wait around for someone else to do it. We help each other, solve problems and take responsibility from start to finish. Being junior does not mean having no ownership. The size of the problems you own grows with your experience, but the attitude should be there from day one.2. Keep Things Simple and FocusedStartups move fast, so clarity matters. We focus on what really moves the needle, avoid unnecessary complexity and prioritize ruthlessly. In engineering, this means we value simple solutions that work over technically impressive solutions that solve the wrong problem.3. Deeply Care About QualitySpeed does not mean being careless. We believe great work comes from attention to detail and high standards. Whether it is a product feature, an API, a pull request, a test or an email to a customer, we want to do it properly. We are building software for a high-stakes industry, so quality, precision and trust matter.4. AmbitionWe want to build something important and we want to work with people who want to become exceptionally good at what they do. We value people who actively seek responsibility, learn quickly and want their scope to grow over time. At the same time, we value low ego, honesty, kindness and direct feedback. We want Dalatea to be a place where talented people can do the best work of their careers. How to Apply1. Send us your CV2. Please also include a link to your GitHub, portfolio or a project you have built. It does not need to be perfect or commercially successful. We are much more interested in seeing what you chose to build, how you approached it and what you learned.Privacy NoticeThe personal data you provide in your application and throughout the recruitment process will be processed by Dalatea.By submitting your CV, you consent to the processing of your personal data for the purpose of assessing your profile and managing your application for the relevant position.
