The developer will help identify where internal systems can replace existing applications, where retained SaaS platforms need reliable integrations, and where automation can reduce duplicate data entry, improve reporting and give staff better tools to support care, education, transport and operational services.The Senior Full Stack Developer will be a hands-on engineering role, focused on designing, developing and supporting high-quality applications, APIs and integrations. This is not a purely strategic architecture role, a large-team management role or a role focused only on configuring SaaS products. The successful candidate will be expected to write code, solve practical operational problems, build maintainable internal systems and create integrations that reduce fragmentation across VCare24’s digital environment..Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and maintain modern full stack applications using Microsoft technologies.Build APIs, integrations and services that connect business systems and improve data flow.The role must approach development with security, privacy and safeguarding in mind. Internal systems and integrations should be designed to protect VCare Group information through appropriate access controls, audit trails, secure authentication, data minimisation, retention awareness and clear operational ownership.Support the modernisation and replacement of legacy applications, with a focus on safe, incremental delivery.Contribute to architecture discussions and technical decision making.Participate in code reviews and promote readable, testable and maintainable code.Support automated testing, CI/CD and continuous improvement practices.Use Azure DevOps, Git and release processes to support reliable software delivery.Contribute to data migration, reporting and system integration activities where required.Produce clear, proportionate technical documentation to support maintainability and handover.Stay informed about emerging development practices, including responsible use of AI-assisted coding tools where appropriate.Essential CriteriaProven commercial experience as a Full Stack Developer, Senior Developer or Senior Software Engineer.Strong hands-on experience building and supporting production software applications.Experience developing or deploying solutions in Microsoft Azure.Experience designing and developing REST APIs or system integrations.Good understanding of modern software development principles, including maintainability, testing and code quality.Experience working with relational databases and data-driven applications.Experience using Git, Azure DevOps or equivalent tooling for collaborative development.Experience working with CI/CD pipelines or controlled release practices.Understanding of secure development principles, identity management and data protection considerations.Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a wider transformation programme.Technical skillsBack-end development: .NET / C#, ASP.NET Core, API development, Entity Framework, SQL Server or comparable technologiesFront-end development: React, Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS or comparable modern front-end technologies.Cloud and DevOps: Microsoft Azure, Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.Integration and data: REST APIs, system integrations, data mapping, data quality awareness and practical support for migration activities.Quality and security: Automated testing, code review, secure development, maintainability and controlled releases.Desirable criteriaExperience modernising or replacing legacy business systems.Experience working within a digital transformation or operational change programme.Experience developing cloud-native applications.Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code concepts, such as Terraform or Bicep.Experience working in regulated, care, education, safeguarding or other mission-led environments.Experience supporting data migration, reporting or business intelligence activities.Experience mentoring junior developers or providing informal technical guidance.Responsible use of AI-assisted software development tools.Personal attributesEnjoys building software and solving practical problems.Takes ownership for delivery and follows through on commitments.Balances technical excellence with pragmatism.Works collaboratively with technical, operational and project colleagues.Comfortable operating where requirements, systems or documentation may be incomplete.Curious, self-motivated and committed to continuous learning.Values quality, security, maintainability and good user outcomes.Why join VCare24?Build technology that directly supports better services and operational outcomes.Join a digital transformation programme at a meaningful stage of development.Work in a practical, delivery-focused environment where working software matters.Have genuine influence over technical solutions, quality practices and future ways of working.Benefit from hybrid working and a purpose-driven organisational mission.Join us to be part of a passionate team dedicated to leveraging technology for meaningful impact in care services!Pay: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per yearBenefits:Company pensionFree parkingHealth & wellbeing programmeOn-site parkingReferral programmeWork from home
