Full Stack / AI Software Engineer | Brisbane | Up to $160k + SuperBrisbane | Hybrid (3 days onsite) | $140k–$160k + SuperI'm working with a growing technology business in Brisbane that's looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer with an interest in AI to join its engineering team.This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys building production software, working across the full stack and exploring how AI can improve both the products we build and the way we develop them.You'll be joining a collaborative engineering environment with plenty of ownership and the opportunity to contribute to technical decisions as the platform continues to evolve.The roleYou'll be involved in:Building and maintaining full-stack applications using Python, FastAPI, React and TypeScript.Developing APIs, backend services and data processing workflows.Integrating AI capabilities and LLM-powered functionality into existing systems.Improving application performance, reliability and scalability.Using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing and delivery.Contributing to automated testing, CI/CD and engineering best practices.Working closely with other engineers to design and deliver new functionality.What we're looking forStrong commercial software engineering experience.Experience with Python/FastAPI and/or React/TypeScript.A solid understanding of APIs, databases and cloud-based applications.Experience working with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.Familiarity with AWS, GCP or Azure.Experience delivering reliable, maintainable production software.An interest in AI engineering, LLM applications and modern development practices.Comfortable taking ownership and working within a collaborative team.AI engineering experienceWe're particularly interested in engineers who are actively exploring how AI can improve software development.This could include:Using Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot or similar tools.Building AI-powered features or integrating LLM APIs.Experimenting with coding agents and automated development workflows.Using AI to improve testing, debugging and code quality.Developing reusable instructions or workflows to make AI-assisted development more reliable.You don't need to have experience across every area, but a genuine interest in AI and its application to software engineering is important.What's on offer$140k–$160k + Super, depending on experience.Hybrid working, three days onsite in Brisbane.Opportunity to work with Python, FastAPI, React, TypeScript and modern AI technologies.A collaborative environment with genuine technical ownership.Exposure to AI-powered development practices and emerging technologies.Scope to influence engineering standards and technical direction.If you're a Brisbane-based Full Stack Engineer who's interested in AI and enjoys building production software, I'd be keen to hear from you.Apply directly or get in touch for a confidential discussion.
