Fullstack Engineer (Backend Focussed)Node.js | TypeScript | AWS | PostgreSQLLondon — 4 days per week onsite£50,000–£55,000 + benefits and share optionsPermanent, full-timeThe OpportunityI’m partnering with a growing London fintech building products that help people access, manage and save their money more effectively.They’re looking for a backend-focused Software Engineer to join a small, high-ownership engineering team and help build reliable financial products used by real customers.This is not a role where you’ll simply work through a backlog of pre-written tickets.You’ll be trusted to understand the wider problem, contribute to technical decisions and own work from initial requirement through to production.What You’ll Be Working OnDesigning and building backend services with Node.js and TypeScriptDeveloping secure REST and GraphQL APIsBuilding and improving third-party integrationsWorking across payment, payroll and financial-data workflowsDesigning database-backed systems using PostgreSQL and MongoDBImproving production reliability, scalability and performanceInvestigating incidents and resolving underlying causesStrengthening automated testing, monitoring and CI/CDWorking with AWS, Docker and cloud-native infrastructureContributing to React-based product features when requiredWhat We’re Looking ForAround 3–7 years of commercial software engineering experienceStrong backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScriptExperience designing and maintaining production APIsGood knowledge of PostgreSQL or another relational databaseHands-on AWS experienceExperience with Docker, CI/CD and automated testingConfidence owning features across the full development lifecycleStrong communication and problem-solving skillsA genuine interest in product outcomes, not just code deliveryParticularly Relevant ExperienceExperience in any of the following would be valuable:Fintech, banking, payments or payrollBilling or subscription systemsEvent-driven architectureKafka, SQS, SNS or RabbitMQWebhooks and third-party integrationsAuthentication, permissions or RBACProduction incident responseMicroservicesHigh-volume transactional systemsFast-growing SaaS or product-led businessesThe EnvironmentYou’ll join a small engineering team where your work will be visible and your input will genuinely matter.The strongest fit will be someone who is:Comfortable taking ownershipPragmatic and commercially awareHappy working through ambiguityInterested in improving existing systemsWilling to challenge assumptions constructivelyMotivated by joining a growing product businessPackage£50,000–£55,000 salaryBenefitsShare optionsLondon-basedFour days per week onsiteClear opportunity for ownership and progression
