You should be able to independently build production-quality React features as well as design and implement backend services involving APIs, business logic, data storage, caching, and asynchronous processing.As an SDE II, you will own medium-complexity problems from requirement understanding through technical design and implementation. For larger or more complex architectural problems, you will work closely with senior engineers.What You’ll DoOwn medium-complexity features from requirements → technical design → implementation → production.Build and maintain production applications using React, TypeScript, and Node.js.Design and implement backend services and APIs.Design basic relational data models and make appropriate choices around tables, relationships, indexes, and constraints.Write efficient SQL queries and troubleshoot database-related performance issues.Use Redis appropriately for caching and other application use cases.Build and work with asynchronous and event-driven systems using technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or equivalent messaging systems.Think about reliability, fault tolerance, scalability, and failure scenarios while designing services.Debug issues across the stack—from browser and frontend behavior to APIs, databases, queues, and production services.Write maintainable, testable code and participate in code reviews.Work with product managers and other engineers to translate product requirements into technical solutions.Use AI coding agents and AI-assisted development tools effectively as part of your day-to-day engineering workflow.Take responsibility for the quality and reliability of the features you ship.What We’re Looking ForFull Stack Engineering3–5 years of professional software engineering experience.Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript.Production experience with Node.js and React.js.Ability to independently build production-quality frontend features using React.Ability to independently design and implement backend services for medium-complexity use cases.Good understanding of API design and client-server architecture.Databases & DataGood understanding of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.Understanding of basic relational data modelling, including relationships, constraints, indexes, and normalization.Comfortable writing and debugging SQL queries.Ability to reason about database performance and common issues such as inefficient queries and missing indexes.Experience using Redis or similar caching/data-store technologies.Distributed & Event-Driven SystemsExperience working with message queues and event-driven systems, using technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or equivalent.Understanding of asynchronous processing and common messaging patterns.Working knowledge of concepts such as:Fault tolerance and graceful failureRetries and idempotencyScalability and service bottlenecksCachingReliability and observabilityEngineering & Problem SolvingAbility to take a reasonably defined product requirement and turn it into a technical design and working implementation.Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across frontend and backend systems.Ability to make sensible engineering trade-offs rather than over-engineering solutions.Comfortable navigating an existing codebase and making changes across multiple components.Good understanding of testing, Git-based development workflows, and production software engineering practices.Comfortable using AI coding agents to accelerate development while maintaining ownership of the design, correctness, and quality of the generated code.Nice to HaveExperience deploying or operating applications on Kubernetes.Experience with Docker and containerized applications.Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS.Experience debugging production systems using logs, metrics, traces, and monitoring tools.Experience working on systems with meaningful scale or high transaction volumes.What Good Looks Like in This RoleGiven a medium-complexity requirement, you can understand the problem, identify the frontend and backend changes required, propose a reasonable technical design, model the necessary data, implement the solution across the stack, test it, and take it to production.For problems involving deeper architectural decisions or significantly greater complexity, you know when to involve a senior engineer and can work effectively with them to arrive at the right solution.Primary Stack: Node.js · TypeScript · React.js · PostgreSQL · Redis · RabbitMQ/Kafka
