Apply & track with Apply EdgeSenior Full Stack Engineer – Java / Spring Boot / AngularUp to £120,000 | Permanent | Hybrid – Warminster area, circa 3 days per weekI’m partnering with a global software product business delivering mission-critical platforms across defence, government and resilience, and we’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join a major long-term UK programme.This is not a ticket-factory environment.You’ll be joining a team working on complex, business-critical software where architecture, reliability, security and engineering quality genuinely matter. You’ll remain hands-on across the stack while having real influence over technical decisions, engineering standards and how the platform evolves.The backend is centred around modern Java and Spring Boot, while the frontend is built with Angular and TypeScript. The wider environment includes PostgreSQL, REST APIs, Kafka/event-driven systems, AWS, Docker and Kubernetes.We’re particularly interested in engineers who enjoy understanding why a system is designed a certain way, challenging assumptions and owning problems through to production.What we’re looking forStrong commercial experience with Java and Spring BootHands-on Angular and TypeScript experienceExperience designing and building REST APIs and microservicesStrong SQL experience, ideally PostgreSQLExposure to distributed or event-driven systems, ideally KafkaExperience with cloud-native engineering using AWS, Docker and/or KubernetesA strong approach to automated testing using tools such as JUnit, Mockito and TDDExperience contributing to architecture, system design and technical decision-makingSomeone comfortable taking ownership beyond simply completing assigned ticketsStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with product, engineering and customer stakeholdersExperience within defence, government, aerospace, financial services, healthcare or another highly regulated environment would be useful, but it isn’t essential.You’ll need to be comfortable working around Warminster approximately three days per week, and candidates will need to hold or be eligible for the appropriate UK security clearance.Why this one is differentThe attraction here is the level of ownership.You’ll be working on a major multi-year programme, alongside experienced engineers, with the opportunity to influence how systems are designed rather than simply inheriting decisions made elsewhere.There is also genuine progression available into Staff / Technical Lead level for engineers who want to increase their architectural and technical influence while remaining hands-on.If you’re a Senior Engineer who enjoys Java/Spring Boot on the backend, Angular/TypeScript on the frontend, and solving complex production problems rather than just shipping features, this is worth a conversation.Salary: up to £120,000
