Full-Stack Engineer for backend development

The company is privately held and was founded in 2026, offering an environment where team members can shape a modern secure collaboration product.The team values those who push the limit of innovation and reimagine how remote work is done.About the roleWe’re building the backend for a collaborative, browser-based workspace platform. The frontend and the core workspace technology already exist; we need an experienced engineer to build the central backend that powers accounts, the user dashboard, and the connections between them. This role requires someone who can take ownership of backend architecture, make sound technical decisions, and build systems that are secure, scalable, maintainable, and production-ready from day one.They will be working with our lead engineer based remotely.You will:• Build secure user accounts, sign-up and login, and role-based access.• Stand up a managed database and model the platform’s data.• Build the APIs the website uses, and connect them to our existing workspace and video services through a defined interface.• Integrate an AI/insights service (activity summaries and transcription).• Set up clean deployment and configuration practices.• Design and implement a scalable backend architecture capable of supporting multi-tenant SaaS workloads.• Build secure authentication, authorization and session management using modern security best practices.• Design well-structured REST APIs with clear versioning, documentation and error handling.• Implement logging, monitoring, auditing and observability to support production deployments.• Ensure backend performance through database optimization, caching and efficient API design.• Collaborate closely with the frontend and platform engineers to integrate existing workspace infrastructure.• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to long-term technical direction.(Full technical brief to to be given to the incumbent)You should have:• Solid experience building production SaaS backends (accounts, databases, APIs).• Strong Go and Python preferred.• Experience with managed databases (PostgreSQL), cloud hosting, and modern deployment (e.g. Git-based pipelines).• A track record of clean, well-documented handover.• Experience designing scalable backend architectures for multi-user SaaS applications.• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, API security and secure coding practices.• Experience building RESTful APIs used by modern web applications.• Familiarity with Docker, containerized deployments and cloud infrastructure.• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and production deployment workflows.• Understanding of backend performance optimization, database indexing and caching strategies.• Experience implementing logging, monitoring and debugging for production systems.• Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code with clear technical documentation.• Comfortable working in an early-stage startup where ownership, initiative and problem-solving are expected.
