Full Stack Engineer (TypeScript, Next.js, Node)

We are partnering with a company that is a platform that lets medical practices prescribe and fulfill compounded therapeutics — GLP-1s, peptides, HRT, and personalized supplements — without the operational overhead. The platform automates pharmacy routing, billing, fulfillment, and refills end-to-end, connecting practices to licensed 503A/503B pharmacies and cGMP-certified supplement manufacturers. Formula Health serves medspas, functional health clinics, longevity clinics, direct primary care, dermatology, chiropractic, and fertility practices, giving them one system for prescribing, sourcing, fulfillment, billing, and patient experience.The RoleWe are looking for a Full Stack Engineer to help build and scale the core platform — from the clinician-facing prescribing and pharmacy-routing workflows to the patient-facing checkout, subscription, and order-tracking experience. This is a hands-on, high-ownership IC role at an early-stage company operating in a regulated, HIPAA-compliant environment, where your work directly affects clinical operations and patient care.This role is onsite in the Financial District of SF with a max salary of 230k, depending on experienceWhat You'll DoDesign, build, and ship features across the full stack — from database and API layer through to polished, production-grade UIBuild and maintain patient- and clinician-facing web applications (prescribing workflows, pharmacy routing/optimization, billing and subscription management, order tracking)Design and extend backend services and APIs that power real-time pharmacy comparison, automated refill logic, and payment/billing automationWork within a HIPAA-compliant environment, applying strong data security and privacy practices to systems handling PHICollaborate closely with founders/product on a fast-moving roadmap, with significant influence over technical direction and architectureOwn features end-to-end — from design through deployment and iteration based on real usageTech StackLanguage: TypeScript (required, across the full stack)Frontend: Next.js or ReactBackend: NestJS or Node.jsCandidates should have strong, hands-on production experience with TypeScript and at least one frontend framework (Next.js or React) and one backend framework (NestJS or Node.js) from the lists above — genuine end-to-end ownership of features across both layers, not just familiarity with one side of the stack.What We're Looking ForStrong professional experience as a full stack (or backend-leaning full stack) engineer, with TypeScript as a primary languageProven, hands-on experience building production applications with Next.js or React on the frontendProven, hands-on experience building and maintaining backend services/APIs with NestJS or Node.jsComfort owning a feature from database schema through API design through UI implementationExperience working with relational databases and designing clean, well-structured data modelsStartup instincts: comfortable with ambiguity, fast iteration, and wearing multiple hats at an early-stage companyBonus: experience in healthtech, fintech, or another regulated/compliance-heavy industry (HIPAA, PCI, etc.)Bonus: experience with subscription billing, payments, or logistics/fulfillment systems
