As we scale, we are looking for engineers who are passionate about product impact, clean architecture, and solving real-world technical challenges.The Role OverviewWe are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer with a heavy emphasis on backend systems. You will spend approximately 80% of your time architecting scalable APIs in Python and 20% crafting responsive frontends in React. You will be responsible for developing high-performance APIs using FastAPI that support our PHP web application, Android apps, and React web applications. You will also build a robust Identity Verification (IDV) System that handles National ID (NID) image processing. One of your core challenges will be building a pipeline that extracts text from ID cards (OCR) and verifies user identity by matching selfie images against ID photos. You will also manage database integrations and handle the full deployment lifecycle on cloud infrastructure.This role requires a "product-first" mindset—you don’t just write code; you build features that provide value to our users.Key ResponsibilitiesBackend Engineering: Design, develop, and maintain high-concurrency RESTful APIs using Python (FastAPI). Build secure, asynchronous services that integrate with mobile (Android) and web platforms.System Architecture: Optimize database schemas in MySQL and manage complex data flows using SQLAlchemy.Infrastructure & DevOps: Own the deployment lifecycle on AWS/Azure, leveraging CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid, stable delivery.Innovation (Vision & OCR): Collaborate on OCR pipelines for document extraction and biometric face-matching systems, integrating cutting-edge computer vision tools.Frontend Development: Develop modular, reusable UI components using React, TypeScript, and Next.js, ensuring a smooth bridge between our data services and the end-user.Required Skills & Qualifications:3+ years of professional experience with Python. Deep understanding of FastAPI, AsyncIO, Pydantic, and Dependency Injection.Experience designing and documenting REST APIs (OpenAPI/Swagger)Strong proficiency in MySQL and experience writing high-performance, optimized SQL queries.Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure and basic knowledge of CI/CD (GitHub Actions or GitLab CI).Familiarity with Face Recognition/Matching libraries (e.g., face_recognition, DeepFace, dlib, or OpenCV) for biometric verification.Understanding of image preprocessing techniques (noise reduction, perspective correction, cropping) to improve OCR accuracy.Experience with OCR libraries (e.g., Tesseract, EasyOCR, PaddleOCR, or cloud-based OCR APIs like AWS Textract/Google Vision).Familiarity with Auth0 authentication and securing production-grade systems.Experience with "Liveness Detection" to prevent spoofing attacks (e.g., holding up a photo instead of a live face).Solid experience with React and TypeScript. You should be comfortable with Next.js and modern state management (Hooks, Context API).
