Guided by the vision of being “The Institution of Excellence for Life,” MCKL strives to shape individuals who will make meaningful differences in the world.Role Description The Full Time Lecturer (Computer Science) will be responsible for delivering high-quality lectures and tutorials in computer science-related subjects, including areas such as programming and cybersecurity. The role includes planning, developing, and updating curriculum and teaching materials to align with current industry and academic standards. The lecturer will assess student performance through assignments, projects, and examinations, and provide constructive feedback and academic guidance. Additional responsibilities include participating in departmental meetings, contributing to academic quality assurance activities, and engaging in student mentorship and co-curricular initiatives. This is a full time, on-site role based at the Methodist College Kuala Lumpur campus in Kuala Lumpur.QualificationsStrong foundation in Computer Science and related disciplines, with the ability to teach core concepts at tertiary level.Proficiency in Programming and applied computing, with experience in at least one high-level programming language.Knowledge of Cybersecurity principles and practices, and ability to integrate relevant topics into teaching where required.Experience in Lecturing, classroom facilitation, and student-centered teaching methods.Competence in Curriculum Development, including designing syllabi, learning outcomes, and assessment strategies.A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field; a master’s degree or higher is preferred.Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage a diverse student population.Commitment to inclusive, gender-neutral, and non-discriminatory educational practices.Ability to work collaboratively with academic colleagues and contribute to departmental and institutional initiatives.Prior teaching experience in higher education and familiarity with educational technologies and learning management systems are advantageous.
