RAG operates between India and London, offering emerging and established artists visibility on the global stage.Role Description The Gallery Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. This position supports day-to-day gallery operations, including greeting visitors, answering inquiries, and providing information about exhibitions and artists. The Gallery Assistant helps maintain the presentation of the gallery space, assists with installation and de-installation of artworks, and coordinates basic administrative tasks such as managing visitor logs, scheduling appointments, and handling correspondence. The role also includes supporting event preparation and execution, coordinating with artists and vendors, and assisting with social media or promotional activities as needed. The Gallery Assistant works closely with gallery leadership to ensure a welcoming, professional, and efficient environment for visitors and partners.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Communication and Customer Service skills to engage visitors, respond to inquiries, and represent the gallery professionally.Candidates should possess Gallery and Gallery Administration skills to support daily operations, documentation, and coordination of exhibitions and events.Candidates should possess an interest or background in Art to understand exhibition themes, assist with installations, and converse knowledgeably with artists and visitors.Additional beneficial qualifications include organizational skills, attention to detail, proficiency with email and office software, and comfort with social media or basic digital promotion.A diploma or degree in Fine Arts, Art History, Cultural Studies, Communications, or a related field, and prior experience in a gallery, museum, or customer-facing environment, are preferred but not mandatory.
