Baró O-Contemporary | Full-Time | On-SiteBaró O-Contemporary is seeking an experienced and highly organised Gallery Manager to oversee the daily operations of its Abu Dhabi gallery.Working closely with the Gallery Director and the wider international team, the Gallery Manager will be responsible for managing gallery operations, exhibition production, artwork logistics, administrative processes, and the overall organisation of the gallery space.This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong experience in gallery management, logistics, production, supervision, and collections administration. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working independently, coordinating multiple projects simultaneously, and maintaining high operational standards.Key ResponsibilitiesGallery Operations & ManagementOversee the day-to-day operations of the Abu Dhabi gallery.Supervise the gallery space, ensuring its maintenance, organisation, presentation, and operational efficiency.Coordinate external suppliers, contractors, technicians, and service providers.Manage administrative processes, internal documentation, schedules, and operational workflows.Act as a key point of contact between the Abu Dhabi gallery and Baró's international locations.Exhibition Production & LogisticsManage the planning, coordination, and production of exhibitions, installations, and deinstallations.Oversee artwork logistics, including shipping, customs procedures, transportation, storage, packing, and condition reporting.Coordinate with artists, studios, art handlers, installers, fabricators, and external production teams.Supervise installation processes, production timelines, and technical requirements.Ensure exhibitions and projects are delivered efficiently, on schedule, and according to the gallery's standards.Inventory, Archives & AdministrationMaintain accurate artwork inventories, archives, databases, and internal records.Manage consignment agreements, artwork documentation, condition reports, and related administrative materials.Oversee the organisation and regular updating of the gallery's Collection Management System (CMS).Ensure consistency and accuracy across physical and digital archives.Prepare and maintain exhibition checklists, artwork labels, wall texts, and supporting documentation.Sales Coordination & CommunicationsSupport sales processes and coordinate with the international sales team.Welcome and assist collectors, curators, institutional representatives, and gallery visitors.Maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion in all client-facing interactions.Coordinate exhibition documentation, communication materials, and digital content with the international team.Assist with basic graphic design, image editing, and preparation of visual materials when required.RequirementsProven professional experience in gallery management, art logistics, exhibition production, or a comparable position within the arts and cultural sector.Demonstrated experience in logistics, production coordination, operational supervision, and organisational management.Strong knowledge of artwork handling, shipping procedures, customs documentation, storage, and installation processes.Experience managing artwork inventories, archives, databases, and Collection Management Systems (CMS).Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.Excellent organisational, administrative, and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate external teams, and work independently.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with an international team.Fluency in English and Arabic.
