Game Localization Specialist (English / French / Traditional Chinese)

OverviewWe are looking for a Game Localization Specialist to localize game content from Japanese into English, French, or Traditional Chinese.You will be responsible for delivering high-quality translations that capture the game's world, characters, and overall tone, while adapting the content to suit the target market. Depending on the project, your responsibilities may also include MTPE, LQA, quality management, and coordination with external vendors.ResponsibilitiesTranslate in-game content, including system messages, UI text, character dialogue, item descriptions, announcements, and other game contentTranslate, review, and revise content in accordance with glossaries and style guidesAdapt content to reflect the culture and preferences of users in the target marketConduct LQA and identify, improve, and suggest solutions for translation quality issuesCoordinate with external vendors and support project managementPerform MTPE and evaluate translation qualityRequired SkillsNative-level proficiency in English, French, or Traditional ChineseBusiness-level proficiency in JapaneseProfessional experience in game translation/localization, particularly for RPG titlesStrong ability to translate accurately and consistently in accordance with glossaries and style guidesBasic proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel, including knowledge of common functionsStrong communication skills, attention to detail, and accuracyExperience in voice recording direction and coordination (for English applicants)Ability to translate into Simplified Chinese (for Traditional Chinese applicants)Preferred SkillsExperience managing or overseeing game localization, LQA, or QA projectsExperience using CAT tools such as Trados or memoQExperience or knowledge of machine translation, LLMs, and post-editingKnowledge of the game market, culture, and user preferences in the target language regionKnowledge of or experience playing RPGs, adventure games, or dungeon-crawling games (for English / Traditional Chinese applicants)Knowledge of and familiarity with popular IPs, such as battle and shonen manga (for French applicants)Official communication and content writing skills (for French / Traditional Chinese applicants)Experience in consecutive interpretation (for English applicants)
