DLDC’s state-of-the-art diagnostic center and fully accredited endoscopy and surgery center are designed to deliver meticulous, high-quality care and a positive patient experience.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Gastroenterologist role based in Houston, TX. The Gastroenterologist will provide outpatient and inpatient consultations for gastrointestinal and liver disorders, perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, and interpret related studies. Daily responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing evidence-based care plans, coordinating with referring clinicians, and documenting encounters in accordance with practice and regulatory standards. The role involves participation in the endoscopy center’s activities, including upper and lower endoscopy and other advanced procedures as appropriate, as well as capsule endoscopy interpretation. The Gastroenterologist will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and medical assistants to support efficient clinic flow, maintain high-quality outcomes, and promote a patient-centered care environment.Qualifications Clinical expertise in Medicine and Gastroenterology, with the ability to diagnose and manage a broad range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions.Proficiency in Endoscopy and Capsule Endoscopy, including performance and interpretation of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.Specialized knowledge in Hepatology, with experience in evaluating and treating acute and chronic liver diseases.Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution and completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency.Completion of a Gastroenterology fellowship; board certification or board eligibility in Gastroenterology required; Hepatology training preferred.Unrestricted Texas medical license (or eligibility to obtain), DEA registration, and current BLS/ACLS certification.Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.Experience working in an endoscopy center or multi-site specialty practice and familiarity with EMR systems is beneficial.
