The Gastroenterologist will diagnose, manage, and treat a wide range of gastrointestinal and hepatology conditions, including acute and chronic disorders. Daily responsibilities include conducting outpatient consultations, managing inpatient care, performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, and interpreting test results such as imaging and laboratory investigations. The role also involves performing procedures such as upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and capsule endoscopy where appropriate, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. The Gastroenterologist will maintain accurate medical records, participate in clinical discussions, provide patient education on disease prevention and lifestyle modification, and follow established clinical protocols and quality standards.Qualifications Strong clinical expertise in Gastroenterology and Medicine, with the ability to manage a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal conditions.Proficiency in Endoscopy, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and familiarity with Capsule Endoscopy techniques.Specialized knowledge in Hepatology for managing liver diseases and related complications.Recognized medical degree (MBBS) with MD or DNB in Medicine and DM or DNB in Gastroenterology, or equivalent specialty training as per regulatory requirements.Valid medical registration/license with relevant medical council and adherence to ethical and professional standards.Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous learning, and participation in clinical audits or quality improvement initiatives.Experience in a hospital or tertiary care setting is preferred; familiarity with rural or semi-urban healthcare settings in Kutch district is an advantage.
