The Dental Nurse will support clinicians during a wide range of dental procedures, including setting up and preparing treatment rooms, assisting chairside, and ensuring patients are comfortable throughout their appointments. Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate clinical records, managing instrument decontamination and infection control protocols, and handling dental materials and equipment safely. The role also involves providing clear post-treatment instructions, supporting orthodontic and general dental care, liaising with reception and wider practice staff, and contributing to a welcoming, efficient, and patient-focused practice environment.QualificationsStrong foundational knowledge in dentistry and dental care, including chairside assistance and patient support.Demonstrated competence in infection control and decontamination procedures within a dental setting.Experience or familiarity with orthodontics and related clinical procedures.Current registration with the General Dental Council (GDC) and completion of an approved dental nursing qualification.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach and professional demeanor.Ability to work effectively within a clinical team, manage time efficiently, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.Up-to-date knowledge of relevant dental regulations, clinical governance, and health and safety standards.Basic IT skills for managing electronic records and practice systems; previous experience in UK dental practices is an advantage.
