Who We AreZhong is one of the world’s largest YouTube creators, with 80M+ subscribers and a universe of viral characters and entertainment-driven content.Our high-output channels regularly produce videos powered by a tight-knit core production team.We move fast, think big, and are looking for an experienced YouTube Director to help bring ambitious YouTube concepts to life.The OpportunityWe’re looking for an experienced, creative, and hands-on YouTube Director who understands how to create entertaining, high-retention content for Gen Alpha audiences (ages 5–15).You’ll bring scripts to life, direct talent, and lead on-set creative execution to deliver funny, engaging, and visually exciting videos for Zhong’s YouTube channel.We are specifically looking for candidates with hands-on YouTube directing experience, rather than primarily traditional film or commercial backgrounds. Deep familiarity with leading Gen Alpha and family entertainment creators such as MrBeast, Stokes Twins, Ben Azelart, Topper Guild, Brent Rivera, Rebecca Zamolo, and The Royalty Family is a strong plus.The ideal candidate understands YouTube storytelling, comedic timing, and audience retention - and knows how to keep production moving without sacrificing creativity.The RoleWe’re expanding our creative team and adding an experienced YouTube Director to work alongside our existing writers, producers, and talent.We’re looking for someone who is creative, fast, funny, and deeply plugged into Gen Alpha culture - someone who understands what hooks viewers in the first few seconds and keeps them watching until the end.You’ll take concepts and scripts from page to screen, shaping performances, comedic beats, pacing, visual storytelling, and on-set execution. You’ll collaborate closely with writers and producers to strengthen concepts and ensure every video feels native to Zhong’s universe while pushing the channel creatively forward.What We’re Looking ForProven experience directing YouTube content, digital entertainment, or scripted comedyStrong understanding of Gen Alpha humor, internet culture, viral trends, and YouTube storytellingExperience directing creators, actors, and large castsExcellent comedic instincts, visual storytelling skills, and attention to pacingAbility to manage fast-paced shoots and make confident creative decisions on setStrong communication, leadership, and collaboration skillsA portfolio demonstrating engaging, high-performing YouTube or digital video contentBackground in comedy, sketches, challenges, or youth entertainmentUnderstanding of YouTube analytics, audience retention, and viewer behaviorExperience working with recurring characters and interconnected storylinesBased in Los Angeles with the ability to work in or commute to West HollywoodCompensationFull-Time Salary: $120,000-160,000/year + performance-based bonusRelocation assistance is available for qualified candidates moving to Los Angeles.
