We value engineers who understand the fundamentals, who can build & beyond.You and your jobAs a Senior GenAI Engineer, you’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team with end-to-end ownership of your work: from data ingestion to deployment and monitoring.You’ll design and deploy scalable GenAI systems, automate relentlessly across the development lifecycle and collaborate across teams to drive innovation. You’ll apply your technical & AI expertise — from prompt engineering and evaluation frameworks to bias detection and drift monitoring — to ensure performance, reliability and real-world impact.Practical examplesYou are part of an empowered self-performing team. Your voice is heard and you contribute directly to the product, or service, your squad is responsible for.Design and build responsible and cost effective GenAI solutions for up to 9,5 million Rabobank customers.Convert a use-case specific code base to re-usable building blocks used by 100+ tech teams.Pair-program with members of your squad and also across other Squads within Rabobank to solve critical or complex problems.Top responsibilitiesContribute to the design and implementation of GenAI solutions using Azure services (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Azure ML, AKS, Azure Functions).Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Terraform, and Bicep.Build and maintain Python-based microservices and automation tools to support GenAI workflows and infrastructure provisioning.Implement and manage GenAI agents and workflows using frameworks like LangChain or Semantic Kernel.Ensure performance, reliability, and security of GenAI workloads in cloud-native environments.Collaboration & DeliveryWork closely with Data Scientists, Product Owners, and Engineers to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.Participate in the development of AI workflows including prompt chaining, memory management, and agent orchestration.Communicate technical concepts clearly within cross-functional teams.Support integration of GenAI capabilities into existing platforms and services.Growth & ContributionContinuously improve engineering practices and contribute to team knowledge sharing.Stay up to date with emerging GenAI technologies and cloud-native patterns.Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning.You and your talentTechnical Ownership:Design and implement scalable GenAI solutions using Azure services (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Azure ML, AKS, Azure Functions, API gateway).Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for GenAI applications using tools like GitHub, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Kong and Bicep.Build robust Python-based microservices and automation scripts to support ResGen/Gen-AI workflows and infrastructure provisioning.Ensure security, compliance, and performance optimization across ResGen/ Gen-AI workloads.Stakeholder Management:Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Science, Product, and Business to translate requirements into technical solutions.Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making.Act as a trusted advisor for GenAI strategy and infrastructure scalability.Soft Skills & Leadership Qualities:You are “relentless” in getting things done, you don’t give up, you adapt and find another way to complete your assignment.Entrepreneurial - Salesmanship mindset – you see valuable opportunities to pitch your ideas to Leadership and you have the persistence to adapt your pitch even if you are told “no”.Excellent communication skills – able to simplify complex ideas and build trust across teams.Mentorship mindset – passionate about helping the Mediors and Junior colleagues grow and succeed.Required Qualifications:6 + years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure automation (preferably Azure).Hands-on experience deploying GenAI models or services in production environments.Proficiency in Python for automation, API development, and AI integration.Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or Bicep.Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, AKS/Kubernetes).Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.Experience with GenAI agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Semantic Kernel).Understanding of AI workflow orchestration and chaining techniques.Familiarity with vector databases and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) patterns.Exposure to MLOps practices and AI model lifecycle management.Knowledge of API gateways (e.g., Kong) and service mesh technologies.Awareness of cloud security and compliance best practices.
