This position will be site-based in Dublin, Ireland.Reports to: Campus Commissioning Manager Role SummaryThe Data Centre Commissioning Manager is responsible for leading and delivering the full commissioning lifecycle for a hyperscale data centre project on behalf of the Winthrop Technologies. The role ensures that all building systems are commissioned in strict alignment with the Clients standards, technical specifications, safety requirements, and commissioning governance, culminating in successful Integrated Systems Testing (IST), turnover, and client acceptance.The role requires strong technical leadership, disciplined process control, and the ability to operate within Microsoft's structured approval, reporting, and change management frameworks.Develop, manage, and execute the Project Commissioning Plan/ Cx PoR in accordance with the client commissioning requirements, specifications, and templatesEnsure alignment with the projects phase gates, readiness milestones, and acceptance criteriaMaintain compliance with the project safety, quality, documentation, and change control processes throughout commissioningCommissioning Planning & DeliveryLead commissioning activities across all mission-critical systems, including but not limited to:Electrical systems Mechanical systems Controls, EPMS, and BASFire detection, suppression, and life safety systemsDevelop detailed commissioning schedules aligned to the project baseline programme and turnover sequencingEnsure commissioning readiness through structured pre-functional checks and system walkdowns in line with the project proceduresIntegrated Systems Testing (IST)Coordinate and manage the GC responsibilities in regard to IST planning, execution, and closeout in accordance with the clients test scripts and failure scenariosManage live testing activities, load bank testing, black building / black start testing, and redundancy validationCoordinate all trades, vendors, OFCI representatives, and third-party commissioning agents during the commissioning processSafety & Risk ManagementEnforce Winthrop Technologies safety-first culture during all commissioning and energisation activitiesReview and approve CX method statements, risk assessments, and energisation plansActively manage commissioning risk registers and ensure issues are escalated and resolved in line with project requirementsStakeholder CoordinationServe as the primary commissioning interface between the General Contractor, Microsoft, designers, subcontractors, vendors, and third-party agentsChair regular commissioning and readiness meetings, tracking actions, constraints, and approvalsSupport Client-led audits, site walks, and readiness reviewsQuality, Compliance & AssuranceEnsure all commissioning activities comply with project specifications, local codes, and industry standards (ASHRAE, CIBSE, etc.)Manage CX punch lists, defects, and non-conformances through to closureSupport progressive system acceptance and phased turnover strategiesDocumentation & HandoverManage the production, review, and approval of all commissioning documentation, including:Test scripts and proceduresTest results, reports, and deficiency logsAs-built records, O&M manuals, and asset dataEnsure documentation is delivered in accordance with Client formatting, data standards, and digital platformsSupport training and transition to operations teams through the TOC process.RequirementsEssentialProven experience delivering commissioning for hyperscale data centre projects, preferably with Hyperscale clientsStrong MEP background with deep understanding of mission-critical electrical and mechanical systemsExperience operating within Hysperscale commissioning processes, governance, and reporting structuresDemonstrated leadership of Integrated Systems Testing in live or near-live environmentsExperience working for a General Contractor on fast-track, large-scale data centre buildsDesirableDegree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)Commissioning or data centre certificationsExperience with Hyperscale campus-style developments and phased handoversSkills & CompetenciesHighly structured and process-driven approachStrong technical authority and decision-making capabilityExcellent coordination and stakeholder management skillsClear, confident communicator with client-facing experienceAbility to manage high-pressure testing windows and critical milestonesBenefitsWork with a market leader delivering turnkey data centre projects across Europe Competitive Salary packageWorking within a collaborative team environmentSupportive career development Winthrop Technologies Ltd is an equal opportunity employer.
