New York / Remote:| Head of Legal / General CounselOur client is a high-growth, B2C health-tech business hiring its first General Counsel to build and lead a growth-critical legal function from the ground up.This is a hands-on operator role at the intersection of US privacy, consumer health data, product, marketing, and commercial growth. You will work directly with the founders and executive team, partnering across Product, Engineering, and Marketing to help the business scale.This is not a compliance seat, a corporate secretarial role, or a litigation management position. It is for a senior lawyer who is energised by ambiguity, commercial decision-making, and building something that matters.What you will ownUS privacy, consumer and digital health data, and app/data governanceAdvertising claims, disclosures, influencer and comparative marketing, FTC and NAD exposureProduct features, UX flows, warnings, disclaimers and consumer-risk boundariesConsumer claims, arbitrations, demand letters and competitor noticesFundraising support, cross-border structuring, and intercompany mattersLegal operations - templates, review rules, escalation paths, and playbooks that make the business faster and less founder-dependentAbout you8-15+ years of legal experience, with a significant in-house health-tech backgroundDeep experience of US privacy, consumer health data, digital products and B2C marketing - this is essential given the client's primary marketComfortable with FTC-style claims risk and fast-moving product launch environmentsCommercial, pragmatic, and genuinely hands-onB2C or D2C background, with a startup or high-growth mindsetStrong plusesConsumer health, digital health, medtech or wellness sector experienceExposure to products combining app, device, data and D2C marketingEU privacy or international expansion experienceIf you are a senior legal leader who wants to shape product, growth and risk at the core of a genuinely exciting scaling business, we would love to hear from you.📩 Contact Kieron Wright at kieron@mwaip.com
