General Counsel

Concordia is seeking an experienced General Counsel to serve as the organization’s senior legal executive and a key member of the executive leadership team.We are looking for someone with long term care experience who's well versed and familiar with the rules and regulations in this field located in the Greater Pittsburgh Area or the Central Pennsylvania Area.This position will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, senior leadership and Board of Directors, providing strategic legal guidance across Concordia and its affiliated entities. With more than 140 years of service, Concordia offers the opportunity to join a financially stable, mission-driven health care organization and play an important role in its continued growth.What You’ll Do as General Counsel:The General Counsel will oversee Concordia’s legal function and advise leadership on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, real estate, health care regulatory compliance, physician contracting, Stark and Anti-Kickback requirements, risk management, litigation and labor and employment matters.Key responsibilities of General Counsel include:Lead the legal function, including legal staff, budgets and outside counselAdvise executive leadership and the Board on legal, regulatory and strategic business mattersLead legal aspects of acquisitions, divestitures and due diligence and review and negotiate complex agreementsPartner with Compliance and operational leadership to identify and mitigate legal and regulatory riskManage significant litigation and outside counselServe as Corporate Secretary and maintain appropriate corporate recordsMonitor evolving federal and state health care laws, regulations and industry requirementsQualifications of General Counsel:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active State Bar admissionAbility to qualify as Limited In-House Corporate Counsel in Pennsylvania, if applicable15+ years of health care legal experienceSubstantial in-house counsel experience with a health system or similarly complex health care organizationStrong experience in health care law, corporate transactions, M&A, regulatory compliance, contract negotiations and litigation managementExceptional judgment, communication, negotiation and leadership skills with a high degree of ethics and integrityWhy choose Concordia?Concordia offers competitive executive compensation based on experience, comprehensive benefits, hybrid flexibility and the opportunity to work directly with executive leadership and the Board.Join a financially stable health care organization with more than 140 years of success and help guide Concordia’s continued growth and future.
