We are seeking an experienced General Ledger Unit Manager to oversee all general ledger activities, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data. The role will be responsible for managing monthly and annual financial closing processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards, and leading a team of accountants to deliver high-quality financial reporting. The role also plays a pivotal part in process improvement, strengthening internal controls, and collaborating with other teams.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately.Review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and prepaid expenses prepared by the team.Monitor the integrity of balance sheet balances and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.Lead and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes in line with approved deadlines.Review trial balances, variance analyses, and supporting schedules for management reporting.Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with IFRS/GAAP standards and internal policies.Implement and maintain effective internal control systems and clear accounting policies.Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, company policies, and governance standards.Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and support.Drive efficiency and automation in general ledger operations and financial reporting.Collaborate with IT and finance teams to improve ERP systems and integration processes.Propose improvements to enhance closing efficiency and data accuracy.Supervise and develop general ledger accountants to ensure high performance.Assign tasks, track completion, and provide training and professional mentoring.Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and teamwork within the finance team.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in accounting, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial general ledger role.Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, financial reporting, and financial closing procedures.Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite, with advanced Excel proficiency.Preference for candidates with experience in multinational or shared-services environments.
