Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Store Manager to lead a Manhattan art‑supply and gift retail store. This position carries full P&L responsibility for the location. You will oversee daily store operations, sales performance, team development, inventory management, visual merchandising, and our in‑house custom‑framing department. Our customers include artists, students, educators, and gift‑shoppers throughout New York City.

Employment Type: Full‑time, On‑siteReports to: CEOResponsibilitiesOwn full‑store P&L, drive sales, profitability, and shrink‑reduction targets; review weekly and monthly business metrics and execute corrective action plans to meet goals.Manage end‑to‑end store operations, including opening/closing protocols, safety compliance, cash handling, and loss prevention.Lead all inventory activities including receiving, replenishment, cycle counts, and stock accuracy to minimise shrink.Supervise workflows, quality standards, and customer consultations for the custom‑framing department.Execute brand visual merchandising standards across the sales floor; maintain store presentation, cleanliness and organisation.Recruit, hire, onboard, schedule, coach, and conduct performance reviews for retail associates, keyholders, and shift leads.

Build a positive, inclusive team culture focused on retention.Resolve escalated customer issues and deliver exceptional customer service for creative‑product and gift‑buying patrons.Work a flexible retail schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as business requires.RequirementsMinimum 3 years of proven experience as a Store Manager / General Manager in brick‑and‑mortar speciality retail.Direct hands‑on P&L ownership for a retail location.Demonstrated experience hiring, training, coaching, and managing retail teams.Practical knowledge of retail POS systems, inventory processes, and shrink mitigation.Ability to work retail‑required flexible hours.Reliable commute to Manhattan, NY.Preferred Qualifications‑ Previous work experience in art‑supply, custom‑framing, stationery, or gift retail (Blick Art Materials, Michaels, Paper Source, Utrecht Art Supplies, McNally Jackson strongly preferred).‑ Familiarity with custom‑framing operations and client consultations.‑ Experience managing high‑volume New York City retail stores.‑ Personal passion for art, craft materials, stationery, and creative gifts.BenefitsCompetitive base salary plus performance bonus.
