Team members join a hospitality-focused environment that emphasizes quality, ambiance, and memorable guest experiences.Role Description The General Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in St. Charles, IL, responsible for overseeing all daily operations of Swank Coffee & Wine Lounge. This includes managing staff scheduling, training, and performance, ensuring exceptional guest service, and maintaining a welcoming, well-presented environment. The General Manager monitors inventory, orders supplies, and coordinates with vendors to support consistent product quality and availability. This role also manages financial performance, including budgeting, sales tracking, and cost control, while implementing strategies to drive revenue and guest loyalty. The General Manager collaborates with ownership on marketing initiatives, special events, and continuous improvement of the guest experience.Qualifications Experience in hospitality or restaurant management, with a strong focus on guest service and team leadership.Proficiency in day-to-day operations, including staff scheduling, training, performance management, and vendor coordination.Ability to manage budgets, monitor sales, control costs, and interpret basic financial reports.Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to foster a positive, inclusive workplace.Knowledge of food and beverage service standards; familiarity with coffee, wine, and small-plate dining is preferred.Understanding of health, safety, and sanitation regulations applicable to food and beverage establishments.Comfort with using point-of-sale systems and basic office software for reporting and administrative tasks.Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Prior experience as a manager or supervisor in a café, bar, restaurant, or similar environment; relevant certifications (e.g., food handler, alcohol service) are a plus.
