Team members join a mission-driven environment that values innovation, care, and high standards in food service.Role Description The General Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY, responsible for overseeing daily operations and leading the front- and back-of-house teams. This role manages staffing, scheduling, training, and performance to ensure efficient service and a positive guest experience. The General Manager monitors financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, inventory management, and revenue optimization. They maintain high standards for food quality, safety, cleanliness, and compliance with health regulations. The role also involves building strong customer relationships, handling guest feedback, implementing operational improvements, and collaborating with leadership on strategic initiatives to support Terra’s mission of better food.Qualifications Experience in restaurant, hospitality, or food service management, including day-to-day operations and team leadership.Strong skills in budgeting, financial analysis, cost control, and inventory management.Proficiency in staff recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management.Knowledge of food safety standards, health regulations, and best practices in quality control.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution abilities.Demonstrated strength in problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.Commitment to guest service, with a track record of creating welcoming and inclusive environments.Comfort with using point-of-sale systems and basic business software (e.g., spreadsheets, scheduling tools).Previous experience in New York City hospitality or similar high-volume markets is a plus.Relevant education in hospitality management, business, or a related field is beneficial but not required.
