General Manager — Flagship RestaurantCentral LondonUp to £45,000I’m working with a brand-new restaurant business that has recently been franchised over from the US and is now building out its UK operation. There are multiple new openings planned, so this is a really strong opportunity for someone who wants to join at the beginning, take ownership of a key site and potentially grow with the business as the UK operation develops.Because this is the flagship store, you’re not just coming in to run another restaurant. You’re likely to be close to the senior team, involved in shaping standards, and at the table as the business grows. They’re looking for a strong General Manager who can take full ownership of the site and lead from the front. This is a proper hands-on role. You’ll be visible on the floor, leading the team, talking to customers and driving standards, while also keeping a close eye on the commercial performance of the restaurant. What you’ll be responsible forYou’ll have broad ownership of the operation, including:Leading and developing the wider restaurant teamLabour and rota managementFood cost and waste controlFront and back of house standardsOversight of the bar operationDriving sales and commercial performanceGuest experience and complaint handlingRecruitment, training and team developmentBuilding culture and operational standards as the business growsWho they’re looking forIdeally, you’ll already be a General Manager from a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant, fast-casual or QSR environment. They’ll also consider a very strong AGM with 2+ years’ management experience who is genuinely ready to step up.You’ll need to be someone who:Has experience managing serious volumeUnderstands labour, food cost, waste and commercial performanceHas led a sizeable teamIs comfortable in a busy, hands-on operationEnjoys being visible with customers and the teamCan build standards rather than simply inherit themIs excited by joining a new business where there is still plenty to shapeThis is probably not the right move for someone who wants a fully mature, highly corporate structure with every process already built. It is a great move for someone who wants to join a new brand early, run the flagship site and grow alongside the business as more locations open. What’s on offerSalary up to £45,00028 days’ holidayFree meals on shift50% food discountBirthday offCompany pensionPaid giving-back dayStrong progression potential as the UK business expandsIf you’re an experienced operator who likes the idea of running a high-volume flagship site and being part of the team that helps shape a new US brand in the UK, this could be a very good opportunity.
