strict quality control, reliable project delivery, and long-term customer relationships.As the business continues to expand its production capacity and market presence, Westeel is seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to lead the company through its next stage of growth.Position ObjectiveThe General Manager will have overall responsibility for the performance of Westeel, including sales, estimation, engineering, procurement, production, project execution, quality, financial performance, workforce productivity, and business development.The successful candidate must be capable of running the company as a complete business—not simply managing factory operations.The GM will be expected to establish clear targets, build a strong management team, improve systems and controls, increase production efficiency, expand Westeel's customer base, and ensure that projects are delivered profitably, safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Leadership & P&LTake full responsibility for Westeel's operational and financial performance.Develop and implement the company's annual business plan, budget, revenue targets, production targets, and profitability objectives.Monitor revenue, gross margin, overheads, cash flow, receivables, production costs, and overall profitability.Provide management with clear monthly reporting covering commercial, operational, production, and financial performance.Identify underperformance early and implement corrective actions.Build scalable systems and organizational structures capable of supporting significant future growth.Sales & Business DevelopmentLead the commercial growth of Westeel across Saudi Arabia and regional markets.Develop strong relationships with EPC contractors, industrial companies, developers, consultants, government entities, and major private-sector clients.Build and manage a structured sales pipeline.Ensure the sales team actively develops new customers rather than depending solely on existing relationships or incoming inquiries.Review major quotations, commercial proposals, and contract negotiations.Ensure projects are selected based on profitability, capacity, strategic value, and commercial risk.Support development of long-term framework agreements and strategic customer relationships.Estimation & Commercial ControlEnsure accurate estimation of steel tonnage, material cost, fabrication hours, engineering cost, transport, erection, subcontracting, overhead, and project risk.Establish strong tender review and bid approval procedures.Ensure quotations reflect realistic production and procurement costs.Monitor estimated versus actual project costs and use completed-project data to improve future estimates.Protect company margins during contract negotiation and project execution.Prevent uncontrolled discounts, scope gaps, and commercially weak commitments.Engineering & PEBOversee structural steel and PEB engineering functions.Ensure designs are optimized for safety, constructability, fabrication efficiency, and steel weight.Promote value engineering and economical structural solutions.Ensure engineering deliverables are completed according to project schedules.Strengthen coordination between engineering, estimation, procurement, production, and site teams.Ensure compliance with applicable international and local codes and customer specifications.Manufacturing & ProductionTake overall responsibility for factory production performance.Establish clear weekly and monthly production targets measured in tonnes, fabrication hours, utilization, productivity, and delivery performance.Improve factory workflow from raw material receiving through cutting, drilling, fitting, welding, blasting, painting, packing, and dispatch.Minimize bottlenecks, idle manpower, excessive overtime, rework, and material waste.Ensure proper production planning and capacity allocation between projects.Develop measurable productivity benchmarks for each production activity.Drive continuous improvement and increasing automation within the factory.Ensure machinery and equipment are properly utilized, maintained, and upgraded when commercially justified.Procurement & Supply ChainDevelop reliable sources for structural steel plates, coils, beams, channels, angles, consumables, paint systems, fasteners, and other required materials.Establish strong supplier qualification and procurement controls.Maintain competitive sourcing without compromising material quality or delivery reliability.Reduce dependence on single suppliers.Negotiate strategic supply agreements where appropriate.Coordinate procurement closely with production schedules to minimize shortages and excessive inventory.Ensure traceability of materials and compliance with project specifications.Project DeliveryMaintain oversight of major projects from award through engineering, procurement, fabrication, delivery, erection, completion, and collection.Ensure contractual milestones are achieved.Monitor project schedules and intervene before delays become critical.Ensure clear responsibility between factory, project management, logistics, and erection teams.Maintain strong relationships with clients throughout project execution.Ensure variations and additional works are properly documented and commercially recovered.Quality, HSE & ComplianceMaintain a strong quality-management culture throughout the organization.Ensure fabrication complies with approved drawings, welding procedures, inspection requirements, material specifications, and applicable standards.Reduce NCRs, customer complaints, rejected material, repair welding, and rework.Maintain proper welding qualifications, inspection records, material certificates, traceability, and quality documentation.Ensure strong HSE standards across factory and project sites.Ensure company operations comply with regulatory, contractual, and internal governance requirements.People & OrganizationBuild a competent and accountable management team.Define clear responsibilities and reporting lines across departments.Establish KPIs for department heads and key personnel.Conduct structured management and performance-review meetings.Identify skills gaps and recruit strong technical and commercial personnel where required.Develop internal talent and succession planning.Create a culture based on accountability, urgency, teamwork, transparency, and measurable performance.Take corrective action productivityHSE performanceCandidate RequirementsThe ideal candidate should have:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.MBA or postgraduate business qualification is an advantage.Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, preferably within structural steel fabrication, PEB, heavy fabrication, or industrial manufacturing.Minimum 5 years in a senior management, General Manager, Plant Head, Business Unit Head, or equivalent leadership position.Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and PEB operations.Demonstrated experience managing a manufacturing P&L.Strong knowledge of steel procurement, fabrication economics, production planning, and project execution.Commercial experience in estimation, tendering, contract negotiation, and business development.Strong understanding of manufacturing productivity and cost control.Experience managing engineering, factory operations, commercial teams, and project execution under one organization.Strong leadership and organizational-development capabilities.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Strong command of
