General Manager - HV Substation Design Consultancy - Dubai

Flow & Systems Partners is managing a confidential General Manager search on behalf of a well-established HV/EHV electrical infrastructure consultancy based in Dubai. The company has a 130kV+ substation design track record and active approvals across DEWA, TRANSCO, ADDC/EAD, SEWA and FEWA. Following a strategic investment to accelerate its growth, the company is hiring a General Manager to partner with the founder through a structured one-year transition and then assume full leadership of the business.The company and full role details will be disclosed to candidates as the selection process progresses.The role:Year one: work directly alongside the founder, embedding in client relationships, project delivery and internal operations, with a clear path to assuming full P&L and operational leadership of the companyFrom year two: lead the 50-person technical organization end-to-end, engineering delivery, commercial performance, client relationships and team developmentBased in Dubai, with regular travel to Abu Dhabi given the company's footprint across both emiratesWhat we're looking for:15+ years in HV/EHV transmission & distribution consulting, with hands-on substation design experienceEstablished relationships with UAE utilities (DEWA, TRANSCO, ADDC/EAD, SEWA, FEWA)Individual approval/registration status as an authorized signatory with one or more of these utilities is a strong plusProven leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams Genuine interest in a succession-style role, stepping into a founder's shoes over time, not just managing day-to-dayCommercial fluency: tendering, margin management, working capital, client developmentFluent English required; Arabic a plus.This search is being run ahead of a planned ownership transition at the hiring company.
