General Manager Information Technology

A leading listed Hong Kong real estate developer with significant property, hospitality, and investment operations is seeking a senior technology veteran to assume a General Manager level role overseeing its group‑wide IT function. This GM is a key person for the future leadership of the team and the management of the HQ. The role will lead the Company’s future technology landscape, strengthening governance, and driving digital enablement across business units.The successful candidate must be a strategic, commercially attuned IT leader with experience managing complex enterprise environments, large teams, and multi‑year transformation programmes.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & GovernanceShape and execute the Group’s technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities, operational needs, and long‑term digital ambitions.Lead enterprise IT governance, cybersecurity posture, risk management, and compliance across all business units.Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management, providing clear direction on technology investments, architecture, and emerging capabilities.Enterprise Technology ManagementOversee the full IT portfolio including infrastructure, networks, cloud, applications, data platforms, and service delivery.Drive continuous improvement of IT operations, ensuring stability, resilience, and high service quality for mission‑critical systems.Lead the optimisation and modernisation of legacy environments, including cloud migration, ERP evolution, and enterprise architecture standardisation.Digital Transformation & InnovationChampion digital initiatives that enhance customer experience, operational efficiency, and business intelligence.Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities for automation, data analytics, AI adoption, and workflow digitisation.Evaluate and implement new technologies that strengthen competitiveness and organisational agility.Team Leadership & Vendor ManagementLead and develop a sizeable IT organisation, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.Manage strategic vendor relationships, ensuring performance, cost efficiency, and alignment with enterprise standards.Oversee major technology contracts, procurement, and long‑term vendor strategy.Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum 20-25+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management or GM‑level role.Proven track record overseeing enterprise‑scale IT operations within complex organisations (property, conglomerate, hospitality, or similar multi‑business environments preferred).Strong experience in IT governance, cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud transformation, and enterprise applications.Demonstrated success leading large teams and managing multi‑year transformation programmes.Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and drive cross‑functional alignment.Strategic mindset paired with strong operational discipline and execution capability.Hong Kong experience strongly preferred; Cantonese or Mandarin proficiency advantageous.
