MissionHires is seeking a hands-on General Manager on behalf of a confidential luxury ranch and boutique resort in the Big Bend, Texas area. This leader will oversee day-to-day ranch and resort operations, drive operational and financial performance, lead department heads, and uphold exceptional standards across a remote, guest-facing property. The ideal candidate brings practical ranch or dude ranch management experience, strong business and back-office acumen, and the ability to independently lead a high-performing team.How You'll ContributeOversee all ranch and resort operations in partnership with the Assistant General Manager and leaders across reservations, guest services, housekeeping, recreation, food and beverage, and other departments.Establish, maintain, and continuously improve operating procedures and programs for the property.Lead, develop, motivate, and hold department leaders and staff accountable for performance, service, safety, and operational standards.Conduct regular department-head meetings to promote clear communication, alignment, and effective execution across operations.Conduct daily and frequent property inspections to ensure high standards of safety, courtesy, cleanliness, maintenance, and efficiency.Review incident reports, inspection findings, and daily operating reports; address issues promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.Ensure a clean, welcoming, and well-maintained ranch environment for guests and employees.Proactively drive guest satisfaction through responsive guest services and timely resolution of concerns.Ensure the safe, smooth operation of all guest activities and recreational offerings.Oversee evening guest entertainment and support an engaging, social guest environment through the Assistant General Manager.Manage refurbishment, remodeling, construction, habitat, and agricultural projects across the property.Develop, monitor, and meet or exceed the annual business plan, with a focus on operational performance and profitability.Provide weekly operational and business updates to ownership.Maintain strict discretion regarding the confidential nature of the search and property operations.What Makes You a Great Fit5 to 10 years of management experience, including prior responsibility for leading and managing staff.4 to 7 years of hospitality experience; direct experience operating a ranch, dude ranch, remote resort, or similar destination property is strongly preferred.Demonstrated operational and business-management capability, including back-office oversight, sales awareness, budgeting, and profitability focus.Experience managing a remote property is highly desirable.Strong leadership, organizational, and accountability-management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently, solve problems effectively, and make sound decisions with limited supervision.Ability to perform effectively in a high-energy, demanding, and changing environment.Professional presence and ability to work directly with guests, ownership, and employees.Bachelor's degree is preferred.Spanish-language skills are a plus.Ability to lift more than 35 pounds and regularly transport up to 50 pounds.Ability to stand for extended periods, with approximately 90% of work time spent standing.Excellent attendance and flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and schedules dictated by business needs.Perks & BenefitsBase salary commensurate with experience.On-site housing.Company vehicle for business use.Medical and dental plans.401(k) plan.
