General Manager – PVC Pipes ManufacturingJob Title: General Manager – PVC Pipes Manufacturing Industry: PVC Pipes / Plastic Products Manufacturing Location: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia Reports To: CEO Employment Type: Full-timeJob PurposeWe are seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to lead the overall operations and business performance of a PVC Pipes manufacturing company in Saudi Arabia.The successful candidate will have strong experience in PVC pipe manufacturing, plant operations, sales, commercial management, production, quality, supply chain, and P&L management. The role will be responsible for driving manufacturing efficiency, improving profitability, expanding market presence, developing key customer relationships, and ensuring the company achieves its strategic and financial objectives.The General Manager will have overall responsibility for P&L, production, sales, operations, procurement, quality, maintenance, finance, HR, and business development.Key Responsibilities1. Overall Business & P&L ManagementTake full responsibility for the company's P&L and overall business performance. Develop and execute short- and long-term business strategies. Set annual revenue, profitability, production, and growth targets. Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions where required. Identify opportunities to improve margins, productivity, and operational efficiency. Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and business plans. Report business performance, risks, and opportunities to the CEO/Board. 2. Manufacturing & Plant OperationsLead the overall PVC pipe manufacturing operations and production activities. Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining quality and cost standards. Optimize production capacity, machine utilization, manpower, and material consumption. Develop production plans aligned with sales forecasts and customer requirements. Monitor manufacturing KPIs including: Production output Machine utilization Downtime Yield Scrap/wastage Production cost On-time delivery Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure efficient utilization of raw materials and production resources. 3. PVC Pipe Technical & Product ManagementEnsure strong technical understanding of PVC pipe manufacturing processes, extrusion, compounding, formulation, tooling, and quality control. Oversee production of relevant PVC pipe products and specifications. Ensure products comply with applicable Saudi and international standards. Monitor product quality, dimensional accuracy, pressure ratings, and performance requirements. Support development of new products and product specifications based on market demand. 4. Sales & Business DevelopmentLead the company's commercial strategy and sales growth. Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, distributors, contractors, developers, consultants, and government-related entities. Identify new markets, customers, projects, and distribution channels. Develop strategies to increase market share and sales volume. Monitor competitors, market pricing, demand, and industry trends. Negotiate major customer contracts and commercial agreements. Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to achieve revenue targets. 5. Key Account & Project BusinessDevelop relationships with major contractors, developers, infrastructure companies, and project owners. Identify and pursue large-scale construction, infrastructure, water, sewage, irrigation, and utility projects. Ensure the company is positioned for relevant tenders and project opportunities. Support technical and commercial teams in major negotiations and tenders. Maintain strong relationships with key accounts and strategic customers. 6. Procurement & Supply ChainOversee procurement of PVC resin, additives, compounds, packaging materials, spare parts, and other production requirements. Develop effective supplier relationships and negotiate competitive commercial terms. Monitor raw material pricing and availability. Optimize inventory levels and working capital. Ensure uninterrupted production through effective supply planning. Monitor logistics, warehousing, and distribution operations. 7. Quality & ComplianceEnsure products meet required Saudi, international, customer, and industry standards. Establish and maintain robust Quality Management Systems. Monitor quality KPIs, customer complaints, rejection rates, and product failures. Ensure effective corrective and preventive actions. Maintain required certifications, approvals, testing, and compliance documentation. Promote a strong quality culture throughout the organization. 8. Maintenance & EngineeringEnsure effective preventive and corrective maintenance programs. Improve machine availability and reduce production downtime. Monitor maintenance costs and equipment performance. Plan machinery upgrades, replacements, and capital expenditure. Ensure proper spare-parts planning and inventory. 9. Finance & Cost ControlMonitor manufacturing costs, raw material costs, labor costs, overheads, and logistics expenses. Improve gross margins and overall profitability. Review product costing and pricing strategies. Monitor working capital, inventory, receivables, and cash flow. Work closely with Finance to prepare budgets, forecasts, and management reports. 10. Team LeadershipLead and develop the company's management team. Establish clear KPIs and performance objectives. Develop a culture of accountability, productivity, safety, and continuous improvement. Recruit and retain key technical and commercial talent. Provide coaching and leadership to Production, Sales, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Finance, and HR teams. 11. Health, Safety & EnvironmentEnsure compliance with applicable Saudi HSE regulations and company policies. Promote a strong safety culture across the manufacturing facility. Ensure appropriate safety procedures are implemented for production and maintenance activities. Monitor workplace incidents and implement corrective actions. Ensure environmental requirements and waste-management practices are followed. Master's degree/MBA is an advantage. Strong knowledge of PVC pipes and plastic manufacturing. Engineering background in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Polymer, or Manufacturing Engineering is preferred. Experience10–15+ years of overall experience, with significant experience in manufacturing. Minimum 3+ years in a senior management / General Manager / Plant Manager / Operations Director position. Proven experience in PVC pipe manufacturing, plastic extrusion, or related polymer manufacturing. Strong experience managing a manufacturing plant and commercial operations. Proven P&L and financial management experience. Strong sales and business development experience within the construction/building materials sector. Experience in the Saudi/GCC market is highly preferred.
