General Manager – Quarry Operations

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager – Quarry Operations to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of our quarry. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production, while managing people, equipment, resources, budgets, and regulatory compliance.The role requires close coordination with Sales, Commercial, Mining Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and other operational teams to ensure production is aligned with customer demand and overall business objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesQuarry Operations & ProductionOversee all daily quarry operations and ensure production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and on schedule.Plan and manage extraction, crushing, screening, and material processing activities.Align production output with sales requirements, customer demand, and business priorities.Develop and adjust production plans according to material requirements and operational conditions.Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions where required.Optimize quarry resources, production processes, and operational efficiency.HSE & Regulatory ComplianceEnsure full compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, mining, and quarrying regulations.Implement and enforce company HSE policies, procedures, and safe working practices.Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, safety meetings, and operational reviews.Promote a strong safety culture across all quarry operations.Ensure environmental controls and permit requirements are properly maintained.People & LeadershipLead, motivate, and manage quarry employees, supervisors, operators, and support teams.Develop effective workforce planning and manpower utilization strategies.Monitor employee performance and ensure appropriate training and competency development.Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.Equipment & MaintenanceEnsure quarry machinery, mobile equipment, crushing and screening plants, and vehicles are properly maintained and available for production.Monitor equipment availability, utilization, downtime, and maintenance performance.Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities with the Maintenance team.Identify spare-parts and equipment requirements and ensure timely procurement.Minimize unplanned downtime and improve overall equipment reliability.Quality ControlEnsure all quarry products meet required customer and technical specifications.Monitor product quality throughout extraction, crushing, screening, and processing.Work closely with Quality and Technical teams to investigate and resolve quality issues.Implement corrective and preventive actions to maintain consistent product quality.Cost & Budget ManagementPrepare and manage quarry operating budgets and expenditure.Monitor operating costs, production costs, fuel consumption, maintenance costs, manpower, and resource utilization.Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining safety, quality, and production standards.Ensure effective utilization of quarry resources and operational assets.Commercial & Cross-Functional CoordinationWork closely with Sales and Commercial teams to align production with market and customer requirements.Coordinate with Mining Engineers and technical teams to optimize extraction and maximize resource recovery.Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Maintenance, Quality, and other departments to support efficient quarry operations.Provide management with accurate production forecasts, operational updates, and business information.Reporting & Performance ManagementEstablish and monitor key operational and production KPIs.Prepare regular production reports, operational statistics, cost reports, and management updates.Analyze operational data and identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve operational performance.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree or diploma in Mining Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.Proven experience in quarry operations, mining, aggregates, or heavy industrial production management.Strong practical knowledge of quarry extraction, crushing, screening, and material processing operations.Demonstrated experience managing production, manpower, equipment, budgets, and operational KPIs.Strong understanding of HSE and environmental requirements applicable to quarry/mining operations.Experience in equipment maintenance, plant availability, and spare-parts management.Experience working with Sales, Commercial, Engineering, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams.You may also register your profile through our website and apply here: https://www.nadia-me.com/job/details/638
