We are proudly independent and are trusted to deliver projects by some of the region’s largest organisations such as Dubai Holding, Emaar, Johnson Controls, Atkins and many more.Our business is growing fast and we are expanding into becoming a trusted partner in ICT consulting alongside our core security work, as well as undertaking geographical expansion across the GCC.We are now looking for a General Manager to run IES’ daily operations and lead that growth. This is a leadership role with real responsibility: you will own the P&L, manage the IES team, and report directly to the Managing Director.The RoleThe General Manager (GM) will run daily operations at IES Consulting. You will be accountable for commercial performance (revenue, profit, cashflow), winning new projects, delivering client assignments on-time to IES’ high standards, and for the day-to-day management of the team. You will report directly to the Managing Director, who sets the annual plan and performance target and holds you to account for delivering it. As GM, you will be responsible for a team of just over 20 across engineering, technical consulting, business development, and administration.This role is ideal for an experienced operator who has already run a professional services business or a business unit, and who wants full P&L accountability. You could have already run a P&L, or be ready to step up to your first P&L carrying role.Key ResponsibilitiesAs General Manager, you will expected to:Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company across business development, design, technical/engineering, and admin teams.Own the P&L and deliver against financial and operational performance targets set by the Managing Director.Establish clear team objectives aligned with the Managing Director’s strategic direction and manage each team’s performance against agreed targets.Maintain high standards of professionalism, accountability and quality client service throughout the organisation, leading by example and motivating the team to achieve the company’s objectives.Sell personally on strategic accounts and tender submissions for major opportunities.Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with IES’ strict quality standards.Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend practical improvements for implementation.Monitor KPIs and present to the MD and business owners in Monthly KPI Review and Quarterly Business Review meetings.Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, contractual requirements, health & safety, and company policies.Skills & ExperienceAt least 5 years in professional services, including 2+ years in a senior management or General Manager positionConsultancy experience in security, ICT/ELV, MEP or another specialist engineering discipline (strongly preferred).Established network in and knowledge of the UAE and wider GCC security and construction-related professional services (ICT, MEP or similar) (preferred).A track record of successfully delivering against a financial target (profit, revenue or cashflow).Personal sales experience (you have won work yourself, not only managed people who did).Experience managing project delivery in a fee-based consultancy: scoping, pricing, resourcing, margin and client satisfaction.Experience managing a team of 10 or more, including setting objectives, hiring employees and performance management.Financially literate with the ability to read and act on P&L, a cashflow forecast and aged debtor reports.Excellent attention to detail.
