They provide baseline patient care under the guidance of supervising physicians, develop clinical skills across primary care and common inpatient presentations, and participate in learning activities, documentation, and quality improvement initiatives to support patient-centered care.Job Scope: Resident Doctor (General Practitioner) is work across outpatient clinics and inpatient services under designated supervision. They perform history-taking, physical examinations, basic diagnostic assessments, and implement initial management plans for common acute and chronic conditions. They order and interpret routine tests, initiate referrals, and contribute to preventive care, health maintenance, and patient education. The role emphasizes continuity of care, appropriate escalation, and safe patient handling. Residents participate in rounds, morning huddles, and specialty clinics as part of structured rotation schedules, gaining exposure to internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics, and minor procedures within their scope. They document care in electronic health records, participate in case discussions, and engage in quality improvement and error reporting activities. The position is designed to foster professional development, clinical reasoning, and adherence to evidence-based practice while ensuring patient safety and compliance with regulatory policies.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience: Educations and Certificates: Medical degree (MD/DO) from an accredited institution.Valid Saudi Commission License as General Practitioner GP.Valid BLS and ACLS.Experience: Minimum 3 years of clinical experience.Exposure to a variety of clinical settings, including primary care and inpatient care, through rotations or electives.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) as required by site policy.Skills and Professional Knowledge: Foundational medical knowledge across general medicine and common primary care conditions.Proficiency in taking patient histories, performing physical exams, and documenting findings.Basic clinical reasoning, differential diagnosis, and initial management planning.Effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.Competence with electronic health records and clinical documentation.Commitment to patient safety, ethics, and professionalism.Adaptability, time management, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.Language: Proficiency in written, read and spoken Arabic and English languagesRoles and Responsibilities (But not limited to)General Roles and Responsibilities:Provide supervised patient care across outpatient and inpatient settings.Support supervising physicians in assessment, planning, and execution of care.Document patient encounters accurately and maintain complete medical records.Participate in rounds, clinics, and departmental educational activities.Identify learning needs, seek feedback, and engage in ongoing professional development.Ensure patient safety, infection control, and adherence to policies and guidelines.Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.Essential Functions / Responsibilities:Take comprehensive history and perform focused physical examinations.Order and interpret basic laboratory tests and imaging as appropriate.Initiate, adjust, or discontinue treatment plans under supervision.Provide patient education on diagnoses, medications, and follow-up plans.Assist with preventive care, vaccination counseling, and health promotion.Participate in discharge planning and coordinated transitions of care.Respond to clinical questions and seek timely supervision for complex decisions.Contribute to case discussions, clinical audits, and learning projects.Comply with regulatory, ethical, and institutional policies.
