Department: Primary Care / General PracticeRemuneration: 65%–75% of Gross Billings + $150–$250/hr Guarantee, Location DependentDPA Status: DPA Opportunities Available – Exact Practice Location to Be ConfirmedMMM Classification: Location DependentAbout The OpportunityHireOn is recruiting General Practitioners (GPs) for established medical practices in Cairns, Townsville and Perth-area locations.These positions offer opportunities to work within established primary care practices serving diverse patient populations, with competitive billing arrangements and strong earning potential.Selected positions may be located within Distribution Priority Areas (DPA) and may be suitable for eligible doctors subject to applicable Section 19AB / Medicare access requirements.DPA and MMM classifications will be confirmed against the specific practice location during the recruitment process.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive, evidence-based general medical care.Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.Develop and monitor chronic disease management plans.Provide preventive healthcare, health assessments and immunizations.Conduct mental health assessments and care planning where appropriate.Perform minor procedures, skin checks and wound management within scope of practice.Request and interpret pathology, imaging and other diagnostic investigations.Refer patients to specialists and allied health professionals when clinically appropriate.Maintain accurate and confidential electronic medical records.Work collaboratively with nurses, allied health professionals and practice staff.Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement and continuing professional development.Essential Qualifications & RegistrationUnconditional General or Specialist Registration with AHPRA / Medical Board of Australia.FRACGP or FACRRM.Experience in Australian general practice or primary care.Eligibility to provide Medicare-rebated medical services.Strong understanding of Australian primary healthcare and Medicare requirements.Ability to meet applicable credentialing and professional requirements.Work RightsApplicants must have full and unrestricted working rights in Australia.Eligible Candidates May IncludeAustralian CitizensAustralian Permanent ResidentsNew Zealand Citizens with applicable Australian work rightsVisa sponsorship is not available for this position.Skills & ExperienceStrong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills.Experience managing acute and chronic conditions.Patient-centred approach to healthcare.Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.Understanding of Australian Medicare and MBS billing.Familiarity with practice management systems such as Best Practice, MedicalDirector or similar.Strong clinical documentation and record-keeping skills.Remuneration & Benefits65%–75% of gross billings, depending on practice and location.$150–$250 per hour minimum guarantee, where applicable.Potential annual earnings of $250,000–$450,000+ AUD, depending on workload, billings and location.Established patient bases at selected practices.Flexible full-time and part-time options.Relocation assistance at selected locations.Accommodation or housing assistance may be available for selected regional positions.Travel assistance may be available for eligible placements.Supportive clinical and administrative teams.Opportunities for long-term career development.DPA & Section 19ABSelected vacancies may be located in DPA-designated GP catchments.DPA classification is relevant to certain international medical graduates and doctors subject to Section 19AB restrictions.
