Educators joining Kinneret become part of a collaborative community focused on student-centered learning.Role Description The General Studies Head Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in White Plains, NY, responsible for leading a homeroom or grade-level classroom and overseeing the planning and delivery of the general studies curriculum. This role includes designing and implementing daily lesson plans, differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs, and assessing student progress through formative and summative methods. The Head Teacher collaborates with colleagues and school leadership to align curriculum with school standards, integrate best practices in pedagogy, and support a positive, inclusive classroom environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing classroom routines, maintaining regular communication with families, participating in faculty meetings and professional development, and contributing to school-wide initiatives and events.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong expertise in Education and Pedagogy, with a clear understanding of child development and effective instructional practices.Candidates should possess skills in Curriculum Development, including designing, adapting, and evaluating general studies curricula that align with school standards.Candidates should possess Educational Leadership abilities, such as guiding classroom culture, mentoring support staff, and collaborating effectively with school administration.Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills for engaging students, working with colleagues, and maintaining ongoing, professional communication with families.Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; a master’s degree and appropriate teaching certification are strongly preferred.Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in elementary or middle school classrooms, familiarity with Jewish day school environments, strong classroom management skills, and a commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive teaching.
