In this role, you will bring your clinical judgment, surgical expertise, and leadership to support Sailors, Marines, other service members, and their families—while maintaining your civilian practice.What You’ll DoAs a Navy Reserve Medical Corps Officer, you may:Provide high-quality surgical care and medical leadership in support of Navy and Marine Corps readiness.Train and collaborate with multidisciplinary military medical teams.Contribute to operational medicine, readiness, education, mentoring, and clinical planning.Serve at military treatment facilities, in field environments, or in other mission-driven settings as assigned.Pursue opportunities to lead, teach, and develop professionally beyond your civilian specialty practice.Reserve ServiceReserve participation typically includes scheduled drill periods and annual training, with flexible drilling options available in some circumstances. Mobilization or deployment is possible based on Navy requirements, specialty needs, unit assignment, readiness, and mission demands.Basic QualificationsApplicants will be evaluated individually through the Navy’s Medical Corps accession and professional credentialing process. General requirements include:U.S. citizenship.MD or DO from a qualifying medical or osteopathic school.Current license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, possession, or the District of Columbia.Completion of an approved graduate medical education program for Reserve applicants.Ability to meet Navy medical, security, credentialing, and commissioning requirements.Selected applicants commission as officers in the Navy Reserve Medical Corps.
