Role Overview:Flightec is looking for an experienced Geophysicist to join our team in Knysna. This is ahands-on technical role involved in the planning, execution, processing, interpretation andreporting of geophysical surveys. The successful candidate will work across field operations,data processing and technical reporting, while also contributing to the continueddevelopment of Flightec’s drone-borne geophysical capabilities and new technologies.Key responsibilities:Plan and prepare geophysical survey projects.Process and perform QA/QC on geophysical survey data, including drone-borne magnetic and radiometric surveys and downhole datasets.Analyse and interpret geophysical data to identify subsurface structures, lithology and anomalies.Integrate geophysical results with geological, geotechnical and drilling information.Produce maps, models, profiles, technical reports and client deliverables.Provide technical input into drill targeting, site selection and project planning.Contribute to the development of drone-borne survey processes, inversion techniques and new geophysical technologies.RequirementsDegree in Geophysics.Approximately 3–8 years’ relevant geophysical experience, depending on seniority.Strong understanding of geophysical methods and instrumentation.Experience with geophysical processing and interpretation software.Familiarity with survey equipment including magnetometers, gradiometers, gamma-ray sensors and EM systems.Experience with GIS and modelling tools.Strong data QA/QC, interpretation and problem-solving skills.Willingness to travel and spend time away from home for field data acquisitionInversion and/or IP experience would be advantageous.Remuneration: Market-related and negotiable based on experience.
