We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join an international team and play a key role in leading engineering teams responsible for mission-critical systems that support large-scale parcel delivery operations. You will work at the intersection of people leadership, technology, and delivery, ensuring teams are empowered to build reliable, scalable, and high-quality software solutions while contributing to the organization's long-term technology strategy.Location & Working Model:📍 Lisbon, Portugal | Hybrid modelRequired Professional Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Software Engineering, QA Engineering, or other relevant engineering disciplines.
• Previous experience leading, coaching, mentoring, or developing engineering teams.

Key Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience combining people leadership with technical decision-making and delivery ownership.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including quality, maintainability, testability, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Experience leading agile engineering teams in complex technology environments.
• Ability to translate business priorities into realistic and sustainable engineering execution plans.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and experience collaborating with Product Owners, Agile Leads, and business stakeholders.
• Experience driving engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and technology standardization initiatives.
• Strong communication, coaching, and leadership skills.
• Passion for building high-performing, collaborative, and empowered teams.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.Nice to Have:
• Experience working in multinational or geographically distributed teams.
• Experience in logistics, transportation, e-commerce, or other large-scale operational environments.
• Exposure to cloud-native architectures and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience with DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and operational monitoring.
• Background in engineering transformation, organizational scaling, or technology modernization initiatives.
• Experience managing teams across multiple locations or countries.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support engineering teams, ensuring alignment between business priorities, product goals, and technical execution.
• Own delivery execution and drive predictable, sustainable, and high-quality software delivery.
• Act as line manager for engineers, including coaching, mentoring, performance management, talent development, and staffing activities.
• Promote engineering best practices and provide technical leadership to support long-term success.
• Drive engineering quality, maintainability, reliability, and operational excellence across delivered solutions.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to ensure alignment between business needs and engineering priorities.
• Act as the primary technical counterpart to Product Management within the team.
• Contribute to the organization's technology strategy and support implementation of standardization and improvement initiatives.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and continuous improvement.
• Support agile ways of working and actively contribute to the success of product teams.
