More information is available at www.kara.org.af.Role Description The German Language Instructor is a full-time, on-site role based in Kabul Province, Afghanistan. The instructor will design and deliver German language lessons for different proficiency levels, using structured curricula and engaging teaching methods. Daily tasks include preparing lesson plans and learning materials, conducting classroom instruction, assigning and reviewing homework, and assessing student progress through quizzes, tests, and oral evaluations. The instructor will also provide language learning guidance, support exam preparation (such as Goethe or TestDaF), maintain accurate student records, and collaborate with other staff to align language training with students’ study-abroad goals. The role may involve occasional workshops, placement tests, and consultations with students and families regarding language requirements for international programs.Qualifications Strong German language proficiency (preferably at C1 level or above) and clear, effective communication skills in German and local languages.Experience in teaching or tutoring German as a foreign language, including lesson planning, classroom management, and student assessment.Familiarity with standardized German language exams (e.g., Goethe, TestDaF, TELC) and ability to prepare learners for these tests.Competence in using teaching technologies and digital tools, such as online resources, presentation software, and language-learning platforms.Relevant academic background in German Studies, Linguistics, Education, or a related field; formal teaching certification is an advantage.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple classes and maintain accurate records.Student-centered approach, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to motivate learners from diverse backgrounds.Prior experience in language institutes, international education, or study-abroad preparation is beneficial.
